Muriatic acid reduces pH, so that's why it's low

We’ve been swimming an hr or less after adding shock for years 😬😬

Oh yikes! The chlorine is probably really, really high. But if it's non-chlorine shock, that's okay.

Most public pools shock the crap out of the pool the morning before guests arrive.

I absolutely have to believe that hundreds of times a day, across the country, that soccer mom gets home with the kids and everyone jumps in within minutes after the pool guy has just shocked the pool. But I get it, it's a "least common denominator" thing. (Pool tech in the biz since 1995).

most important question not answered : HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR FLOCULANT TO HAVE DONE IT:S WORK
@SwimUniversity4 ай бұрын
It's on the bottle of flocculant. Usually the water needs to sit undisturbed overnight or up to 24 hours.

Always wear a mask and eye goggles and extra long gloves when adding muriatic acid
@jgeyer664 ай бұрын
And take a big breath and hold it before until you start adding and get about ten feet away before taking a new breath. Or wear a respirator. I learned the hard way.

How to shock a pool and tell the guest to wait 8 hrs?
@SwimUniversity4 ай бұрын
The chlorine is probably really, really high and not safe or comfortable for swimmers. But if you use non-chlorine shock, you only need to wait 20 minutes.

Shock at night. Or during the week. We do ours Thursday nights
@BlakeDumas3 ай бұрын
@@jonathandeuire6962 I service STR and don’t have the opportunity to shock at night. I’ve always been told to wait an hour after shocking. Now I’m concerned for the guest.
