2 Thessalonians 1 and 2 tell us that the rapture (the Day of the Lord) will occur at the end of the tribulation, simultaneously with God "afflicting" the wicked (chap 1:7-10) and "after" the anti-Christ is revealed (2 Thess 2:3ff). Jesus taught in Matt 24:29 that he will return for us "after the tribulation". In fact his description in Matt 24 is exactly the same as Paul's description in 1 Thess 4 and 5. So when? After! According to Jesus and Paul. This is why the "saints" are mentioned 13 times as suffering, dying and overcoming in the book of Revelation. Yet no where in Revelation are we raptured out before hand. This is why Jesus tells us repeatedly to overcome and endure to the end. Bad news? No... glorious news!

Your Bible must have been translated in a blender; there are no details prophesied for the coming again of Jesus in Matthew 24 that are repeated by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4. Let me give you just one. Paul tells us that Jesus will descend from heaven to gather the saints home, (in fulfillment of John 14:1ff). In Matthew 24 Jesus says that the angels will come to gather the elect, from the four corners of heaven and the earth. Your exegesis fails to account for the change from the Old Covenant while Jesus ministered here on earth, to the New Covenant after He returned to heaven and sent His Spirit at Pentecost. Revelation, after chapter 4, is about the world after the Rapture, when the Old Covenant will again be in lay....

@@paulhall170 All four of Paul's descriptions of the rapture in 1 Thess 4 appear in Jesus's description in Matt 24:29 1. Jesus himself visibly appears 2. angels are there 3. Trumpets are blowing 4. Sainting are being gathered to Christ from around the world. Paul probably took this teaching from Jesus' exact words. But note that Jesus said this would occur AFTER THE TRIBULATION.

@@civilization57 I'd love to pursue this, but plainly you have your tongue tied to your ear so you only hear what you say, so a detailed rebuttal of the many errors here would do nothing. So, while I'm in heaven with the Lord, enjoying the rich benefits of my perfect salvation, have a lovely old time here on earth while He pours out His judgment on sinners...

@@paulhall170 I can give you a dozen verses in support of post trib rapture but you haven't given me even one in support of pre-trib. All you give me are insults. Start with showing me in the book of Revelation where the church, to whom John is writing, gets raptured out before the 7 seals.
