I was mortified and felt victimized and we were never physical again. I felt punished for speaking out. I broke it off 45 days later. Tired of her excuses of being too busy.

@jmfor8108 Maybe try writing down and making a list of all the horrible thing the narc did to you, and if you are tempted to break no contact go read that list over and over again, that will help you remember all the reasons why you don't want to break no contact instead of just recalling a few good moments with the narc. Chances are, overall there were probably many more bad times than good with the narc.

Dealing with childhood wounds is essential. Many times the trauma bonds to a narcissistic person is as a result of trauma in childhood. That is an aspect which must be addressed with some people if that is one of the reasons someone becomes involved with someone like that. It feels familiar to some adults. The key to one aspect of recovery and being completely uninterested in toxic people is to process and heal childhood traumas. You will lose most of your associations you once had. It is a reality which occurs if real discovery and recovery occurs. It takes time then to meet and attract healthy people. It is worth it.

I totally agree with you. My son knew he wasn't right for me but supported me cautiously when I went back to 'him' after a 7 month split. Hes right. I had no idea what a narcissist was until about 6 mos ago. I have heard of Gaslighting prior but i didn't understand the definition. Now that i have come to understanding. I spot toxic people everywhere and when people start explaining to me situations. I give them the terms that they are looking for like triangulation. Andrew, you have been instrumental in my narc education (narc 101 because I didn’t know what narcissism was). This video is exactly where I am in my journey and the perfect message for me. The only difference is I was never “new” supply since it’s an older sibling and whom I considered my best friend for many decades. I have been supply my whole life and constantly overlooking red flags and forgiving because it’s family otherwise I would have dropped this person years ago from my life. When the mask slipped a monster was under it. I just found out my aunt refused to talk to me. Her personal nurse told me that, on Christmas Eve. The malignant narcissist, my brother, has filled her head with lies clearly. She was the one that warned me years ago about him, before I saw any of this. My brother seized the opportunity to brainwash her ! She’s his supply now! The IRONY! I had that happen when my mother triangulated my dying father against me. All my life, she had villified my dad's relatives, so when he died, he hadn't seen them in decades. :( He asked me to contact his last remaining sister, and so I did, even though my mother had told me horrible stories about her. I helped my aunt arrange to see my dad, and OH MY GOD, my malignant narcissistic mother was FURIOUS. The mask dropped. And I realized who she was, and who she was pretending to be for all my 52 years of life. It was bad. So bad......... She triangulated my dying dad against me, saying I was trying to "control" her, when it was she who was puppeteering both me and my dad for decades. It's sad. I couldn't convince my dad, even when she closed their joint account that they'd had for 30+ years, and moved all the money into an account in her-name-only. My dad had written a check to donate to a temple in his last months, and gave me the envelope to mail it. My mother closed the account before I mailed it, so my dad's last donation to charity BOUNCED. She restricted phone calls to my dad, taking the phone from him, and asking me to give her control of my bank account. I refused. When you say "no" to a narcissist, that is when the demon comes out. I'd never said "no" to her before. Once I said "no," I ended up having to go no-contact. Protect yourself from narcissists. There is no limit to the depravity they will commit in order to destroy people who expose their false self.

Looking back, there were many tomes the narcissist either revealed his true conniving self or had 1 foot out the boat preparing to jump to the next boat with the new supply. He is now 69 with the maturity level of age 9. I am so relieved and happy to be rid of him!

It helped me to realize that going back to him was the same as not going back to him because he was never available anyway. But being away from him after a while I could feel a bright spot in my being and that spot would grow from me paying attention to it and appreciating it. After a while I have become more addicted to that brightness than to him.

My ex was a narcissist and it was not as bad as I have experienced now with a new guy, who got me bad with the constant calls and messaging. In only 4 months and now it is taking me 4 months to recover. I have finally stopped crying and can do things that interest me.

Good morning family!!! As I listened to this video. On the lake. Watching all the beautiful birds fly around me and eating... I finally felt a sense of peace. Real peace. I am recovering from a lifetime of narcissistic abuse now. I am at my ex in laws for Christmas. Cooking, helping. The narcissist is no where to be found... I just shared your video with his father. The guy has gaslit his father his whole life. In my 1998 divorce. I left... Got away. Never told his parents all he had done. It destroyed my life then. I recovered. Met another narcissist who was even worse!!! Been healing since 2020 from that one. We attract these people!!! I have realized all those gut feelings I had were correct... When I confronted them they lied through their teeth!!! I began to dought my own beliefs. I am stronger now. And wiser too. Never again will I stay silent!!! ❤ Mizpah
