I'm 67 and started doing this around 60. I see everything differently and really enjoying my peaceful lifestyle. I'm my own best company.

Very good podcast! I wish I could have all the hours back I spent on the phone with two friends who droned on for 2 hours, often about people I didn't know.

Thank you for the kind words! It’s so true-time is such a precious resource. Realizing how we spend it, especially with people or situations that don’t bring value or joy, is a huge step toward living more intentionally. It’s never too late to set boundaries and focus on the connections and activities that truly matter to you.

Most of the time now, to quote Seinfeld, "I am just not that interested".
@EldersInsightКүн бұрын
Haha, a classic Seinfeld quote! Sometimes, it’s just about embracing simplicity and saving our energy for what truly sparks our interest. Nothing wrong with being selective-it’s a sign of knowing what really matters to you. Thanks for sharing that bit of humor and insight!

Mate, thanks you so much for expressing your wisdom. I’m 55 in a few months but I will take this advice on this NOW. Meaning, I’m picking up what you’re putting down. Thanks also for your erudite delivery. Nice one, Geezer ❤️👍🏽

Thanks! I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback and your willingness to take the advice to heart-starting now is always the best time. Life’s too short not to live it with intention and wisdom. Cheers to making the most of every moment!

I am more social now than ever before, but I am more selective about the people I associate with. I had a cool dream last night where the dog of my childhood made an appearance! So good of here to come back, but somehow I suspect she really never really left.

interesting perspective but think you are missing the boat on doing stuff you dont want for people you love. example for me is when my wife wanted to go to a symphony. i couldn't wait for it to be over and thought about leaving early but when i looked at the joy on her face i just sucked it up and was happy for her joy.

That's a beautiful example of selflessness and love. Sometimes, the things we wouldn't choose for ourselves become meaningful because of the joy they bring to someone we care about. Your story highlights an important life lesson-happiness isn't always about personal preference but about sharing in the happiness of those we love. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt perspective! ❤️

I’ve been avoiding people since I was 20😂
@EldersInsight14 сағат бұрын
😂 Sometimes avoiding people can feel like the ultimate form of self-care! It’s amazing how peaceful life can be when you set those boundaries early. Do you have a go-to activity or hobby you’ve embraced in all that extra ‘me time’? Would love to hear how you make the most of it!
