Well stephen (don’t know the real name) did say they didn’t get along at first in the show. But in my opinion, Damon and her work well together just like Caroline and Stephen did. Damon brought out Elena’s other side. She’s more free with him, and he’s wild. Stephen works with Caroline because Caroline is all preppy and loud while Stephen is more mild mannered
