At 16 they can sit in the living room or dining room or porch and watch TV. There will be no one upstairs in my house. I will meet the young man and know where he lives. My daughter will tell me about him and his relationship with his parents, she will stay informed on things she needs to know from everyday conversation. This all sounds good but when it actually happens it's not as easy, I raised a girl and it was a lot harder. The boundaries were definitely set and adhered to but sometimes their choices aren't the best, you can only hope that they revert back to your teachings if they go astray. My daughter is grown now and did not make the best choices but takes care of herself and her children. You have to lay in the bed you make for yourself but thankfully she is financially capable to support herself and her children alone.

I really respect the fact that Jada being 16 years old came to her father and I asked him if she could have a boyfriend . This shows much love and respect she has for D C .
