Content of this skit is so needed right now in our community. Angry, out of control kids killing each other, roaming around breaking into homes and cars, killing random strangers, bullying teachers, fighting school resource officers, forming shoplifting gangs. And the first thing we, appropriately, ask is where were the parents. Well this skit series is showing how something like this can start in a family. And we are missing the point. None of this is Jada’s fault. The parents are so caught up in their own mess they are missing their child’s needs. The father is not taking responsibility for his family and is providing no leadership. So of course there is chaos in the home. His behavior could have ended his daughter’s life. Yet we overlook this. Her mom is oblivious to the physical abuse that is right around the corner. And many commenters are thinking there is no value in this skit. But are all in on the drug and gang skits, wanting people to have birthday parties and for the drug dealers to be successful. Check yourselves.

Parents constantly arguing, at least one alcoholic/ drug using parent in the home who was not functioning as a responsible adult. With no healthy alternative living arrangements for the child, we see so many of the issues I listed, that kids engage in. Not my projections, but headlines we see in the news eveyday. And that family courts deal with daily. So yeah, my response was addressing this whole series storyline so far, not just this one specific skit. Thanks for your question.

Your entire comment is ON POINT. The scenario you gave is also on point, but KW doesn’t appear to want to go in the direction of PROACTIVE, PRODUCTIVE, POSITIVE, or WHAT IS RIGHT. So anything having to do with empowerment, REAL positivity, presenting POSITIVE images of healthy black love and relationships, REAL close family bonds, etc., etc.,…KW is NOT DELIVERING. These “actors” are obviously going along with KW’s “program”, with no questions asked. Tragically…they don’t care, either. So, even though this is just a fictitious “skit”, this BS is obviously playing out in real time…because these actors seem perfectly OKAY with their poorly-written portrayals of these characters. I realize my comment was pretty lengthy…but I REALLY wanted to drive my point HOME. Your comment, I really wish more folks will come across it and REALLY read/DIGEST IT.
