I was there when the Lucie Blackman and Lindsay Hawker murders happened. It put a spotlight on how assaults on foreign women in Japan were either ignored or not taken seriously. A female friend of mine and I were in an elevator and this Japanese guy standing behind us just starts playing with her hair. Creepy stuff.

@@FingerBreakerWu Well... It's more like.... If she ran to the police for help.... And the Japanese man says it was a misunderstanding or etc... They will believe the Japanese man over the foreign woman. Think same thing happens to Japanese women too but think police will take the Japanese woman more seriously than a foreigner. That is why foreigners are easier prey.

Japan also has Tsutomu Miyazaki, aka The Otaku Murderer. Who murdered four young girls in the Saitama Prefecture in the late 80s. He also taunted the families of the victims too. His actions caused a moral panic in Japan about manga and anime because of his obsession with them. He was eventually executed by hanging on June 17th, 2008, 19 years after his arrest.

Japan is still far safer than the United States. I was a US Service member stationed in Japan a long time back and I never feared getting robbed or stabbed in the back. Walking in the worst crime ridden Japanese cities was still far safer than me walking in South Los Angeles, California. The only thing that bothered me was the weird people sometimes coming up to talk to me since I was an American service member. I also was worrisome about some Japanese black widow lady who would try to set us up for robberies. That was pretty much about it.

@@waylaidbyfate.5312 Not a opinion. A fact. I served with the US Marines 3rd Expeditionary in Japan and our specialization was in the logistical warfare support units. I felt more safe walking in Japan than in the hoodlum neighborhoods back in California. Chances of me getting shot for wearing the wrong color in the USA was 100 times higher than in Japan. This was back in the early late 2000s. Also most of the hardcore criminals in Japan prefer to hide since Japan had some of the most brutal prison laws in the world. In the USA I would need a gun to survive the toughest neighborhood in South Central Los Angeles. In Japan; I would only have to worry about pick pocketers. It's a American thing for the USA to have some of the highest violent crime especially for a 1st world power.

I’m slightly perplexed about something in the Shinji Aoba story… Shinji doesn’t exactly look like he’s an Olympic speed runner, so I’m wondering how he was able to pour 11 gallons of fuel throughout the building (because it looks like a decent sized building) and light it up….before *anyone* smelled gasoline, went to investigate the source, noticed the surroundings were splashed with gas and immediately *GTFO* (and/or they discovered Shinji in the act)… Especially since it’s mentioned that he splashed it on some people, how did they not immediately try to tackle/subdue him? Was it splashed on only one person, who might’ve accidentally ran across him in the act? Or did he manage to lockdown the office exits and trap them all in? (I’m not intending this to sound like “victim blaming,” or anything- I’m just trying to understand the chain of events.🤔)

When baths/showers go wrong. Snapped my ankle in a shower, had to drag myself out, tried to pull the sheets off my bed to get my phone which my dog thought was a game and dragged them back. Fun times! Not a terrible story but my ankle is still f'd up as it had completely snapped of the bottom of my leg. The aneasthetist told me I needed a better story, at least add in another person to the shower lol. Heard a story of a guy who died (natural causes) in a bath and had a device to keep the water warm. Took a few days to be found and his meat fell off the bone after being slow cooked. Also reminds me of a story from my dad (police) of a guy who wanted to unalive himself by setting himself on fire but he ran a bath in case he changed his mind. Well the poor guy did but never made it to the bath. Left bits of himself on the way. Not the baths fault obvs...

As interesting as getting Japanese snacks delivered sounds, chances are you wont like everyhing, and/or what you do like is just a packet. At a cost of $470 this is for people with a healthy disposable income (over $39 a box if this is a monthly shipment).

no Matter where you are in the world there is evil lurking somewhere near by you at all times but hopefully you don't become victim to it like so many other souls have. Rest in heaven to those who lost their lives in the hands of another and sadly succumbed to the evil.

You forgot to mention the famous murder on the Dutch student by the Japanese cannibal Issei Sagawa in 1981. He shot a Dutch female student in Paris where they both where studying after pledging his love to her and she rejected. After that he had sex with her dead body and cut pieces off of her to cook and eat it. When the meat started to rotten he put her in 2 suitcases to get rid of her. Walking on the street one of the suitcases fell open and the body parts rolled on the street. That is how he got arrested. He was extradited to Japan and sentenced to a clinic because he was considered mentally ill. He however got free after 15 months in the clinic because his father is an extremely rich and influential man in Japan. He wrote a book about his deed and appeared in several talkshows.

*27 club, is it real? Strange to see how many singers, actors, famous people etc. died at age 27. *In USA, we had secret government programs that are unbelievable, but true. Wonder if more or if other countries did too? We had MK Ultra, etc. *With recent Alec Baldwin shooting on set, yet another disaster during a movie. People killed or seriously injured during making of movies, on movie sets. They never finished Midnight Rider. Sad. Love your voice! Hypnotic.
