As an avid Africa traveller, when I comes across someone doing what you're doing, be it in a vehicle, on a bicycle or on a tricycle, it's normal to assume that you're doing the journey to raise funds for a good cause or to raise awareness. Either way, many good Samaritans will want to support or donate in monetary form or in some way or the other. Some people just mean well when they offer to buy you a drink, or in her situation there was no bar or shop, so she gave you the money instead. Same gesture. Nothing to do with judging your financial situation based on how you look. It comes from her heart. Safe Travels and keep safe in South Africa. Commenting from South Africa.

I love your journey - I have been following you all the way. Namibia is an awesome country! The vast open spaces and the friendly people The nests are the social weavers - you can get as many as 150 nests in one tree. Just watch for snakes who try to get into the nest for chicks or eggs. The Quiver tree is an Aloe dictotoma. (Dicto , meaning two branches - the stems divides into 2) The lady who gave you cash means really well. Namibians do good deed, it is part of their culture.

He has obviously never been offered money throughout his journey and this act of goodwill took him by surprise. I have been following him throughout his journey and have seen nothing but good manners and a kind spirit. He is very patient and gives generously when ever he gets the opportunity. To try and discredit him for some minor misunderstanding perhaps due to different cultures is unnecessary.
