Because both use pentatonic scales. I do it too. Gugak on Irish harp.

We both have: -Lots of historical sadness -Love for the booze -Weirded out by our imperialist war criminal island neighbors who worship their creepy royals -love cabbage - were dirt poor 70 yrs ago - and ireland is shaped like south korea

Thriugh watching a korean historical drama, i have fallen in love with this kind of music, in 1987 the chieftans were the first western musicians to play at the great walll of china,

Oh my god. My two favorite cultures just got put together and i 8000000000% have been waiting for this. Ive always compared the two countries in that they are both divided, and yet constantly tried to be over taken by other countries, although korea isnt an island it may as well be. But both cultures developed well on their own and they are both cultures that were in fact quite happy and didnt need to purposely try to force it upon others. I guess these things could be said about other places but theres just a similairty between them thats undeniable. Probably why i like both of them haha

The instrument isn't uilleann pipes (Irish pipes) nor is it Scottish bagpipes. It's a tin whistle.

That's not the Uillean pipes, is it? . . . that sounds like a shawm of some sort. Definately not bagpipes either because there's no drone. I play a lot of combined Irish and Asian musics . . . this is cool :) Great tune!!!
