Filming out in 27 degree weather while wearing just sweaters, true Mid-westerners lol. Those little signs Tori made for the seeds are so cute! Hopefully that light you put in front of the seeds is doing its job when the sun can't. Bet that's one of the benefits of homeschooling were you can see the progress of projects like that at any time.

This is a wonderful view of home schooling - I love that they learn critical thinking , logic skills something which seems to be lacking in schools today. I have always taught in nontraditional settings and my favorite thing to do was to choose or allow students to choose a topic and then ask what they thought. It was fun, non-threatening way for them to express their opinions, analyze information and listen to the viewpoints of others. I mentioned this during a substitute teaching training and it was made clear that would not be appreciated. No wonder right now in schools staff are dealing with kids meowing and acting like cats carrying around litter boxes. Foolishness does not lead to education

We don’t have a large family, but my 4 kids enjoy being homeschooled so much! We do most of our core subjects together, which helps me. I teach those at my oldest child’s level (12 yr old) and my youngest child (6 yr old) learns so much from it! My 6 year old also worked with the older kids to learn to read when he was 3! I like to say I had nothing to do with him learning to read so quickly, but letting them play and teach each other, uninterrupted, is what taught him.

I don't know your family of course, but I have to say I'm so proud of you as parents and Christians. To put in the time and effort to teach them about God and to home school where your values are the ones they are exposed the most to, is amazing!!! And to hear you listen to each of them as well as talk to them, is so important to know where they are on their journey and that they're still on the right path. You are right that no one is perfect and things will never go completely smoothly, but you have the things in place most important to adjust and move forward. Blessing to your family and thank you for your videos. You all just make me smile soooo big!

I use those same jiffy peat pucks and I have not ever used boiling water. If the pucks are still hot when the seeds go in, the seeds could die. I have only used tepid water. No worries. Nice suturing! Cinnamon is antifungal and will stop mold from growing on your seed trays. That way you can have high humidity, closed vents, until everything mostly sprouts.

When I start seeds in the ground, I use the small clear hard plastic cups as a small greenhouse for each seed! Place the cup upside down over the seed and down gently into the soil! As the plant grows I cut the top/bottom of the cup off and replace it over the newly growing plant so it has room to grow upwards! When strong enough I remove the cups and save them for future use🌱🌱🌱 it helps them sprout and keeps the worms, bugs and birds from getting to them🌼

I've never watched on my computer, I always watch on my t.v., so I don't comment much, but I just wanted to come on here and say that in the opening you have for this video Belle looks sooooooooo pretty! Not that all of your kids don't always look so handsome and beautiful, but for some reason I happened to look up at the opening for this video and she happened to catch my eye. She looks so grown up, her hair looks amazing and her outfit is so cute. I can't believe how grown everyone looks! I discovered your channel just before you got pregnant with Seth and I have been a faithful follower ever since. You guys are fantastic parents, I just love learning about all your adventures in Kenya, all the new recipes you throw our way and your food prepping. It's refreshing to have someone to watch that is faithful and spreads kindness.

How to tie knots is one of our favorites. I also played classical music in our home daily low in the background. My adult children will tell how much they love it today. Story telling, be it one child per dinner, two per week, every child will listen and every child loves to be in the spotlight being heard. I tell stories of my youth adventures or memories and my children have gotten to know me through them.

We didn't grow up homeschooling but my mom had told myself and my sister that if we wanted to "play school" with my youngest brother that we had to actually teach him. So we would print out worksheets and by workbooks from dollar tree and he was ahead of everyone in his grade. I was 13 when he was born and my sister was 11.

You two provide quality teaching & extraordinary learning skills, learning behavior, experimental research, words of Godly & parental wisdom that's definitely crucial and loads of fun. You provide strategies of teaching that leaves no child left out. That was a fantastic research about the sink Belle.😊 The credentials that are provided here are simply priceless and there's no comparison out there. To treat or not to treat, that is the question. Assuming we are working with home saved seeds and not store bought (store bought seeds do not require nor will they benefit from this) While many types of home saved seeds do benefit from hot water soaking, others may suffer from this process. Be sure to be thorough during your research to avoid a timely/costly harvest. Love from Ventura, Ca

When the seeds sprout, you'll want to put the grow lights closer to the plants so they don't get "leggy" (where the stems get too long and they flop over). Also, when they sprout, put a fan on them. A little wind blowing will help the stems be stronger and they can hold up better to outside breezes! 😁

Sarah, I was afraid that my comment was so far down on last video regarding a channel called "Mary's Nest" She has a wonderful recipe for homemade cream cheese and homemade sour cream. I love how the groups work together and the little ones have a part in the process and the presentations. I am really impressed with the life skills curriculum. I was a full time working mom. I only had 2 kids, but they were 12.5 years apart, which meant I had no break in school years. Twenty five years with a kid in our public school system. The only year they overlapped was his kindergarten and her senior year. I was a mess that year. I could not imagine homeschooling. She did teach him to read before he started school, which was really helpful.

I also love introducing them to new life skills and the family field trips!!!! So educational!!!!
