When living on a Narrowboat gets difficult | Is it time to stop?

We have been continuously cruising for 3 years now and it's starting to take its toll so we have some big decisions to make...
It's been longer than we had hoped since our last video. We have been very mindful to respect our boundaries when it comes to vlogging as it can feel overwhelming at times to film everything so we've decided to make intentional videos when it feels right - we appreciate all of you who love watching.

Taking a mooring over winter sounds like a smart move i think for any boater the days are shorter and having to travel when its colder must take its toll. Being able to just sit and relax will make it much more enjoyable for you all. Xx

It’s lovely down there where you are, just on the outskirts of town. 2 minutes from civilisation but far enough away to not be part of it. The flood lock will help if the river floods, just need your welly’s or a paddle board for the towpath 😊

You said your a bit worried about being on the River . Is that a ‘Lock’ behind you ,where your moored ? If it is you will be able to move to the other side of the Lock where its safer. Are you close to a Water Point ? You will only need to get nervous , if all your Narrowboat neighbours suddenly move away from that mooring in the winter . 😊

Lookout. With stillness comes permanence, nesting and babies. It's different for my wife and myself. We're retired. We're cruising, living in our American caravan in new zealand, towards our tombstone. Or dementia unit. Which ever comes next. Lol

You just need to understand a couple of things about that reply. Flows can be controlled. Regulated or diverted. Once you figure out who's in control, then you can relax. As long as you're doing the controlling.
