It might be called a lizard , but I think the designers intention was to emulate a salamander. I've definitely seen salamanders around bass beds. My observation for what it's worth. Thx Randy.

I agree. I think they emulate salamanders. I see them in my lakes up here in the North. Salamanders mate in the spring. They love the mud. They will be in mud bottom lakes
@BobelPop10 ай бұрын
Just my opinion but I'd think the lizard might be good in the more tropical climates since they are all around the area. Plus, there are some geckos & other critters in that kind of climate.

I remember a few years ago i was fishing for bass in one of my friends' farm and i caught a seven pound catfish. Man, what i fight that was. Thanks for a great video and 2 great channels, Randy! You are one of the very best presenters of content out there!

I caught a nice limit of 2-3lb largemouth on KY Lake as a co-angler during a springtime BFL on a pegged texas rigged lizard (black w/ red flake). My boater was fishing a feeder creek with a lipless crankbait and carolina-rig in the channel. While he powered back and forth through the creek, I just pitched and cast to any stump / laydown that I could hit in 2-4' of water. Aside from a really rough ride back to weigh-in, it was one of my favorite tournament days.

I crushed them on lizards this summer. 8" black and weightless. Slowly swimming it. You put out a video about doing this and it definitely works.

when people talk about “lizards” in a fishing sense i think they’re usually talkin about mud puppies which do eat bass eggs. thanks randy much love from south carolina

Hellbenders are great Ozark area “lizards”. Maybe the reason that Zoom lizards are such a great bait during the spawn.
@markdoerr552910 ай бұрын
The gentleman that posted earlier about salamander is correct there spawning time also coincides with the bass spawn. Salamander’s lay eggs like a frog does that’s why the spring time period is always so good .

My best lizard day was on Fayette County lake in Texas. The fish were suspended in standing timber, and I caught 5 in a row, all over 5 pounds! They used to sell water dogs at a bait shop by the lake, and the fish loved lizards! I like the cotton candy with a chart. Tail the best. Great video

Randy I want to say I enjoy your channel, and appreciate the tips you give. I also watch that livescope guy…. I commend you on how you handled yourself in that interview and since, and have been disappointed in how others have handled themselves. We can disagree and be polite, even friendly to one another. Another great video, keep up the good work!

Most of the Salamanders spawn in the water in the spring when the temperature gets right. Here in Ohio I have seen them and frogs spawning in the same shallow water areas. One on my favorite baits to throw.

I knew I was doing something right. That green lizard is my confidence bait. Although there's no pressure on my lakes/ponds, I do catch them year around with it. Just yesterday actually. So versatile. Sometimes swimming it mid column, sometimes even kind of burning it high like a spinnerbait. I've also done well on Fork with it. Thx for the videos.

I've caught really nice bass on lizards especially when in early to late spring I've seen them crawling all over rocks and bluffs. I've thrown them over bluffs and large boulders near super deep water T.rigs and darter heads or even dropshoting and tagged em!! Especially spotted bass that sit and suspend waiting for them to fall in the water...

I love a lizard pre spawn ; spawn ; post spawn
@MichaelSwirzewski9 ай бұрын
up here we get these little greenish newts w black spots & a yellow belly peppered w black dots. way i learnt it as a kid was newts like to eat bass eggs outta nests, so bass hate seeing newts around spawning areas in springtime. dont know if its true, but lizards are a top three springtime bait for me- they produce!

Z-Man LizardZ look and fish like Zoom but a 5 pack will last all season - indestructible. Zoom or Z-Man green pumpkin with the tail dyed red is the bomb especially on Table Rock.

When you fish the bottom. There is no lizard season. Yalls tripping as fook. In Commiefornia, there ain't lizards in the water, but conditions given, there will be small salamanders like that in the water.
