I switched from Invisx back to Maxima ultra green mono and started catching more fish.

Flouro stretches nearly as much as mono. And once stretched, mono retains its strength whereas flouro is weakened. Sensitivity is all perception mono vs flouro. And i dont buy the visibility aspect either. Not trying to be argumentative but a LOT of the testing in the last few years favors mono.

That is not true, where did you get your information from...WAL-MART..LOL

@@davidthomas2921 keep buying the expensive flouro! Salt strong has done test after test and its not even close! Do you think rhe line companies would you rather spend $30 for 150yds or 12$ for 150yds ?
@jasoncummings175546 минут бұрын
@@davidthomas2921 when you compare diameter its not even close. 15lb mono beats 20lb flouro in strength testing when comparing actual line diameter. They are selling flouro as less visible cuz its smaller diameter but when comparing equal line diameters mono wins on strength everytime.

Stop wasting money and just use mono…..another way the industry tricks anglers. I’ve fished Fla for the past 50 years and catch 99% of my bass on green braid and no leader.
@flaminggorilla9092 сағат бұрын
My three largest are on pure braid. I have lost possibly largest on floro. For me I stick to braid these days. I'll use mono when I really don't care that much and want something cheap like setting it up for a kid for bluegill or something.

Hey Randy my favorite tube jig head was the Missouri G 4:17 uido head. I've found some in old small back country bait shops but practically impossible to find. Love the slim profile, hook design and small sharp barb. What do you think about them?

Good for you Randy, all I have to say my experience I have caught bigger fish in aluminum. I’m fishing in bass pros anniversary boat. I change the trolling motor to 24 volt. I use the out board off and on the trailer. Very little use moving around. Last year was 12 gallons of fuel. I don’t fish tournaments anymore but I fish Clearlake and the ca delta. It works for me. Good luck!

nitro Z18 pro w/ mercury pro sx 150. All the features of the $100k boats at half the price, 40 g livewell,, 40g fuel tank, all the storage you'd 3ver need - I have 20 rods in the boat with room for more. Aluminum just doesn't compare

Randy, I agree with your advantages. But here's some what I consider important disadvantages. Most don't have dry storage. If it rains, everything will get wet. A lot less lockable storage. You can't mount a through hull transducer. It can be really hard to get a good depth reading at speed with an externally mounted transducer. I don't care what you do.

Tried aluminum in 2021 for all of the reasons you mentioned. 19"10" 150 ProXS. Loved the boat, great fuel economy, much cheaper, awesome in shallow water or deep with spot lock, the boat fished better than any of my glass boats, until it busted on Sam Rayburn. Back to glass but I did love my aluminum.

Can you use aluminum boats in the big tournaments?
@af4od024 күн бұрын
Ranger makes some good aluminum rigs. The one problem I have found is the “One Piece Livewell lid”. When the livewell is opened, both the pro’s and co-anglers livewells are exposed. A feisty spotted bass can leap from one side to another. A bass can completely leap out of the boat. A pro is busy up front fishing, and a co angler can accidentally swap bass, or cause a pro to loose his fish. A simple couple hundred dollar modification with “Two Separate lids” at the Ranger factory can fix this issue.

I can count how many aluminum rigs you have ran maybe one. I have seen glass boats with holes through a charger boat and Gambler and they finished the tournament that day, not happening in aluminum. Aluminum being lighter is a misconception they have to thicker Guage to make it as strong foot for foot. My Z19 weighed as much as a 20' express.
