Good Morning family. Pedro was such a grifter and Mary was so dumb. Her commitment to thugging out that trash relationship with Poncho Pedro is ridiculous.

Good Morning. Pedro was dating Fayette Pinkney from The Three Degrees. Mary Wilson saw the signs and chose to ignore them. I think a woman should wait to introduce their children to a new man. Pedro was jealous of Willie. He wanted all of Mary's attention.

I have a 10 yr old son, I would not entertain bringing a man into my home over him. I can date OUTSIDE the home, go over HIS house, or Same thing, come after he sleep, leave before he wakes.

But I’ve been in Mary’s shoes. She had pitty for a narcissist and thought she could teach him love and or give him something he’s never had. It sucks, because you end up learning the hard way. She’s very smart, just a bit naive and overtly hopeful. Humans just suck

You only introduce your child to a man when you are ready to get married. I’m old school. I haven dated since the divorce 8 years ago. My son is grown. I’ll wait. I’m happy.

As I watched this video and listen to you, I was wondering if this was a repeat? I could’ve sworn I heard these excerpts from the book already. However, I then realized that yesterday I listened to Mary Wilson’s audiobook version, which is why I’m hearing this on repeat. But it makes it even better since I get to go back and listen to you read in addition to listening to the audiobook. Good stuff.

Hey Nay, I went through all your playlists to find the song that's in your intro. I'm sure that you've said who it is many times because the song is so good. But if you could tell me the name of this artist I appreciate it. Thank you.❤

Yes, it's true. Mary seems to leave things out. The publisher did not want to publish her book and probably put a limit of 300 pages on her book. Today it is the nature of the book business in today's digital world. I have noticed that books including biographies are getting shorter and shorter. The average book is now around 250 to 300 pages and even shorter. I have always been an avid reader all my life and I remember biographies would be over 500 pages and most often 1,000 pages. I would never read a biography that was less than 500 pages because you know that things have been left out. Publishers don't want to publish long books anymore because the mental capacity of the people today has been greatly diminished in our increasingly digital world. The last biography I read was only 300 pages and many things were left out and I think that is because the publishers are not willing to go the expense of a 500 to 1000 page book anymore. I did read a biography many years ago that was 1,000 pages and it was fascinating because nothing was left out and every detail was included due to a meticulously researched book. I wish those days would come back. Expect an autobiography written today to be sparse in detail and not over 300 pages...just enough to get you titillated but not fulfilled.

Nay, have you ever heard Poncho Pedro speak?? He talk like Charo!! And Mary thought this man was black and not Latin? Mary wondered why people at Motown never wanted to deal with him, it's because you can't understand a word he says! Charo is easier to understand, and i'm not exaggerating. BTW... Mary's adopted son, Willie Pitchford has written a book, I hope he puts it out soon.

Too many Black people don’t know the history of the transatlantic slave trade outside of America. Pedro was Black and a descendant of African slaves in Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo who were colonialized by the Spaniards. They are usually African, Taino or Spaniard descent and some are even of Jewish descent in the Spanish speaking Caribbean. There were more African slaves taken to Brazil than the USA. Mary really didn’t know who she married. She didn’t ask enough questions.

Big facts about the slave trade! In terms of Mary's relationship and subsequent marriage to Pedro, the tragic thing was that ALL the signs of Pedro being a terrible husband were already there, and that was without Mary really delving into his background or asking him any probing questions. Pedro was openly abusive of both Willie and Mary well in advance of the marriage, and then Mary's mother peeped Pedro's brokeness and advised Mary not to marry him.

@ Bingo. Mary was still heartbroken and unhealed from the ordeal with what she called “the love of her life” Tom Jones who was not going to give up his life or wife to marry her. I hope she didn’t think he would. Yet, her and Linda (Tom’s wife) became good friends after she broke it off. Linda even said. “Girl, I know why you love him, but he’s MINE.” That’s class. Grown woman shit. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Point is she was dejected and kept trying fix the abandonment wound in relationships with men she couldn’t have or someone who would treat her poorly. But I think she got healed and never settled again.
