In today's video, I discuss media that start off with funny and/or lighthearted stories, but at one point or another start getting comparatively dark and serious. This writing phenomenon is known as Cerebus Syndrome.

one great example of this is dimension 20, they get really silly and really deep and balance it in a way that works so well. i think being able to laugh is important in telling a meaningful story, i agree that something having ups and downs makes it feel more real.
