He had his first direct experience of the Self at the age of nine. He met his Master, Sri Ramana Maharshi, in 1944. Shortly afterwards he realized the Self in the presence of his master.
As a disciple of Sri Ramana Maharshi, the renowned Indian saint & sage who died in 1950, Papaji offered to speak about what he had experienced with his teacher.
Tens of thousands of people from all over the world visited Papaji, especially in Lucknow, his home, during the last years of his life. Seekers of truth from around the world visibly woke up in his presence. He had an extraordinary ability to seemingly transmit the experience of what has always been true and present: You are That!"

"Ramana instructed Papaji to re-focus his path and to locate this “seer.” Thus, Ramana pointed Papaji to what is called the direct path, known in India as Advaita (nonduality) Vedanta. Although Ramana never conferred his lineage on anyone, including Papaji, his repeated visits to Ramana’s Ashram in Tiruvannamalai imbued his future teachings with a certain implied credential many Westerners sought."

This means nothing. Ramana never declared Papaji to be Self realized. He also never asked him to teach, or gave him permission to teach. He actually said nothing at all about Papaji's spiritual state. Papaji only self-declared his own alleged Self realization. He only self-declared himself a guru. The fact that Mooji met him does not mean that Mooji became magically Self realized. Nobody ever became Self realized because of Papaji. Stick with Ramana folks! He won't let you down like these imposters.

You are correct. Mooji followers apparently know very little about Ramana. They don’t even seem to know much about Papaji. Papaji said “I can give people temporary experiences, but I can’t make them stick.” That means Papaji admitted that he never fully “awakened” anyone. Mooji is posing as if he alone is the one special case where it did “stick”. If this was true, Papaji would have made a big fuss out of Mooji. But unlike cases where Papaji lied to Andrew Cohen and Gangaji, (telling them they were enlightened), Mooji never got such a fake declaration. There’s not even a photo of the two of them together, like there is with Cohen and Gangaji.

@@goncaloqueiroz8734 of course there’s no division between saints and scoundrels, or anything for that matter, but we need discrimination on the path. Papaji was a controversial self-declared “guru”, do is Mooji. Even though “it’s all one” you wouldn’t send a friend to a crooked car dealer.! With that said, beware of Mooji folks.. just google Mooji + cult, and find out for yourself.

Guess what, there's no footage of Papaji meeting Ramana. Not even a photo. But dozens of devotees are in footage with Ramana, and in photos. My point is, he made a big fuss out of visiting the ashram, but Ramana never said anything about him. The ashram does not approve of him either. There is no Ramana "lineage", Mooji has no connection to Ramana, just because he met Papaji. Stick with Ramana folks!

@@mfit7110 I never said "only Ramana is the truth". But I will state clearly that Papaji is definitely NOT "the truth". He was a pretender, trying to ride Ramana's coattails. One of the worst things he did was to declare Andrew Cohen "the next Buddha", and unleash him on the world. Cohen became an abusive cult leader. This shows Papaji's glaring lack of discernment, and misguided understanding of what actual Self realization is.
