When your misery level hit 9, I thought "But Wait, There's More". Misery level got adjusted in a big way Saturday. Thanks for documenting this. You passed me along the boulder field.

"I can't wait to try again next year.".... LOVE IT!! I have run the Bair Gustman many times and I know that course. Major respect for those runners. Great video! Thank you for sharing. I still believe the race should have been canceled at the starting line. It's a huge blessing all were safe.

Thank you for sharing this, a much needed reminder of how quickly the conditions can change at elevation. Well done on having warm weather gear with you and making the right decisions.

This is seriously epic! Y’all are dealing with freak blizzards and it is still hot and humid here. Blah. Sorry your race got canceled. Is it weird that this has made me want to run this race next year?

Wow! Your footage is beautiful, amazing and scary all together, you captured the atmosphere really well! Good to hear that there were so many volunteers helping to get everybody out of this misery. Talking about misery, I just learned a new expression: misery scale (will use it from now on). Despite all this, your video makes we want to run!

Wow. I read about this story in the paper, but your video makes it really real. Thank you for sharing because it helps to see that the fact that you were so prepared made your experience less horrific than the experience of less prepared runners.

Wow. This was insane. I just completed IronMan TX this past weekend and it was 90 degrees here in mid-afternoon. How crazy of the differences of our conditions on the same weekend. Glad you all made it back safely. Your thanks to the volunteers and race director are right on. We had a great race and volunteers down here in TX as well. They are the ones that make it possible for us crazy folks.

Thanks for documenting this Jordan. It’s reassuring to see that someone had the same thoughts I did throughout. I’ll see you there next year, and maybe around Coldwater

Holy smokes! I haven’t seen a lot of races that topped Zane Grey in 2014, but I can honestly say this takes the cake. I’m glad you made it back safe.

Good call. Getting damp clothes before it gets cold is not good…ask any Inuit! I guess you should think, what would I wear if I was skiing this route in these conditions..and enjoying it.

Excellent first hand account of the reality behind the headlines 🙏💪 With the benefit of hindsight, what additional gear/food do you wish you had put in your pack at the start?
@JustAnotherRunner3 жыл бұрын
My gloves were too thin. Had I known the snow would have been that deep, I would have worn gaiters. A thin wool base layer on top would have been good. And pants/tights.

Sorry to hear about your experience. How did the Salomon ultra glide perform on snow? Did you need to wear additional spikes under them? Were they slippery in snow?
