Legend has it Harrison Ford ad-libbed the iconic "I know" response to Leia's "I love you...."
@Randy_ReactsАй бұрын
Here's one I bet you never heard - in Raiders of the Lost Ark during the scene with the man swinging his swords threateningly at Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford was very ill that day of filming and didn't feel like doing the big fight scene that was scripted, and so he just pulled out his gun and shot the swordsman. And then after that there was an unscripted kiss between Indiana Jones and the Swordsman, as Indiana held the dying man in his arms he said, "I'm sorry," and then he leaned in and kissed him. And then a huge dance number broke out. And then an unplanned parade came marching through the middle of the scene. It was crazy.

I worked as an extra in "Gettysburg" which was filmed under the working title, "The Killer Angels", which was the title of the book it was based on. The scene where Gen'l. Lee was mobbed by his troops, the original wasn't shot because the camera operators were changing film. We had been promised all week that we'd get to meet some of the principal actors, but it wasn't happening. But, that afternoon, someone sent Martin Sheen riding past us. We heard the cheering up the line from us and rushed to our feet to see what was happening. When Lee appeared, we all went a little bonkers and ran out hollering and shaking his hand. He was amazed that his portrayal of Lee was so realistically received. The director was so impressed with our reaction to Lee's entrance, he got us to do it again. I didn't think the second time was as enthusiastic as the first time. The first time was a genuine reaction of delight at seeing our commanding officer because it wasn't staged.

Martin Sheen was sometimes known for being very strict about sticking to a character's moment of agony. In "Apocalypse Now" he probably did get a tad drunk performing Col. Willard's drunken dance where he punched a mirror. He cut his hand so badly that Francis Ford Coppola stopped the camera and shouted for a medic. However, Sheen insisted on carrying through with the entire scene. He really was bleeding when the camera cuts to the shot of him slumped in front of the bed, crying in pain. I understood the moment: war makes us all madmen, sometimes. It's never a good thing when you get sucked into it.
@largol33t13 ай бұрын
PS: despite the constant problems on set with typhoons, mixed up/missing equipment and extras being called to duty (they were real Thai army soldiers), the movie opened at #1 at the box office and raked in over $160 million worldwide, which is way over $630 million today.

This is an interesting collection of shots that were mostly planned or molded, with a lot of mythology, and a bit of lying. The Storm Trooper that hits his head on the door frame was a legit blooper but it wasnt intentionally left in the movie. They had very little time and alloted film to work with making the movie that they just kept the take instead of redoing it. George Lucas figured they would be able to edit the film later and just kept going with the movie and by the time the final cut of the movie was finished, they had completely forgot to do anything about the scene and couldnt do anything about it anyway. Back then, film was precious and insanely expensive (about $5000 per 10 feet of film). Lucas had a hard time all around making the first three Star Wars films because of the production companies strict deadlines. The sound of the head hitting the frame was also real but faint and barely noticable in the origional cut. Since that scene and the movie as a whole became such a huge deal, they left it in for the fans and even boosted the sound in later releases as a nod to the fans' appreciation of that moment.

In Star Wars, Darth Vader accidentally cut off Luke Skywalers hand during the light saber scene. George Lucas decided to keep it in.

In Pulp Fiction, Jules was supposed to say "does he look like a tasty burger?" but he said "does he look like a bitch?" instead and Tarantino kept it in the movie.

Bonus: In “Return of the Pink Panther,” Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) went undercover as a playboy, Guy Gaudoir, at a Swiss ski resort to spy on Lady Litton (Catherine Schell). His over-the-top accent and flirting made Schell break up in laughter. Schell said they decided to keep that in the film; it showed that Lady Litton could see through Clouseau’s ridiculous disguise, but he was oblivious to her having caught on to him.
