It's cool to see a rougelike game that uses magic like this outside of Noita. It feels like a really underutilized angle for the genre.

Same I was almost waiting for "Hello, it's Sifd here again! Welcome to another episode of..." Now when I watch other people play I get frustrated when they do not do important stuff that Sifd always tries to do! Like when Df passed up on the wand that gives more max mana to ALL wands! But to be fair it is his first time playing/video, so it is not fair if of me to expect him to be an expert! Now we need Sifd X Dangerously Funny collab! 🤩🤩🤩🥳

This game can be incredibly complex and you can build the most busted spells ever. It all comes down to learning the synergies between the things you can put on your wands. Fun game

Noita wasnt the first spell crafting game, and also doesnt actually play anything like this, so its a bit of a weird choice to compare it. they share exactly 1 singular mechanic, and its a mechanic found in a ton of games lmao

@@ParagonQuille The best spell crafting type of game I can think of atm is Wizard of Legend. Really fun game. It's a bit tricky to get into the way combat works at first but afterwards the combos are satisfying and it feels pretty well balanced. It's not quite like Noita or Magicraft in terms of spell crafting, but the game features it's own way of doing it by combining the effects of the spells to create different spells altogether that do more damage or cover wider AoE, etc.

Have you heard of this game called Spincraft? It's labeled as a rogue lite and I think it kind of fits. it's a slot game, where you choose the slot pieces each spin. So it's luck and synergy involved. But the real rogue lite comes when you get the 2nd character. Then you get a hero that fights monsters and level up. The goal is go last as long as you can. Every round, you get a set amount of spins to meet a coin goal, if you meet it, you keep going, but if you don't, it's game over.
