I'm not mad GGG is nerfing skills and interactions. I'm mad my time is being wasted. I want to test the game but if they're gonna delete builds with no respec since most of us spent gold to play the build... It just feels worse than dying at the last boss in a sanctum run you've spent 45 minutes in.

0:22 No, Ziz ... it's not just 'this build' that got nerfed. They nerfed every 'cast on ...' skill, including stuff like cast on shock which was not overpowered in the slightest. Now a lot of shock builds that were selfmade by your average joe have become complete garbage. I invested fully into shock chance on both the skill tree and with my ascendancy points ... and now cast on shock never even procs when doing a map. The only time it procs is against bosses, but never against white/blue/yellow enemies in maps. How can people like Ziz be so one-sided and think that those decisions by GGG only impacted one single build that some no-life streamer was playing? This nerf hit almost every single sorc player, as well as some others. I don't have 400k gold to respec my character and I'm not playing another class to maps just because my own diy build got killed by GGG. Also, why would I wanna start something else if that might get nerfed into the ground as well even if it wasn't overpowered, just like my shock sorc? And yeah, some people are gonna say 'it's early access', yeah you're right ... which is why I've stopped playing now. Motivation is gone and who knows what else I might start would get nerfed as well.

I think people are exaggerating about being "completely bricked" and needing to respec their entire tree. Surely you can just spec out of the energy nodes and put them towards other relevant caster node and still have an ok self cast build. If you can't then you're build/gear was probably pretty bad to begin with.

It's not about the nerf... the nerf was inevitable. It's about getting your build and your character bricked. A single node respec costs ~4k gold... 50 points = 200k gold No casual player has 200k gold on hand while also rolling gear buying from vendors and gambling for gear...

I'm Korean and this is my first time playing Poe. I had a lot of fun and cleared all the acts on 3 hours of sleep for 3 days. I thought to myself, "Okay, I've got my build set up, I'll start playing the real game tomorrow, after I get a good night's sleep." When I came back, my build was trashed to the point of being unusable. Their modus operandi is so extreme. If you're getting paid to test and sell, there should be some level of convenience. The biggest problem is that they scream about diversity in builds, but can't do anything about it because of the gold issue. It really sucks.

I have read zero guides, have zero experience with PoE1, and have never dodge-rolled to safety before this game. Toxic positivity is a beautiful term for this. Exactly what it is. Yes, obviously this is early access. Obviously shit gets nerfed. But they didn't provide buffs for other weak builds. They didn't give people playing those builds and testing them for them (remember, you are basically doing their QA job) a respecc. Them nerfing wvery single "cast on...blah" thing means, that even non-OP builds gor nerfed into the ground.....this company deserves kudos, obviously. The issue is not about Trigger Comet being nerfed is wrong, I think it deserved a nerf. I personally would have been fine with a 50% nerf, but it's a 95% nerf. It's 20 times as bad now. That's the issue. The devs created a mechanic called Trigger gems and they are worthless now. Why create something fun and make it so it's worthless and no one will use it? That doesn't make sense as game design at all. What is sad is that the fix would be so simple they just need to adjust the calculation. Keep energy generation tied to monster power like they did and add a small flat amount to it. I don't have the right numbers but let's say for example, 5 energy per freeze. So now if the small mobs give you 1 energy (power) + 5 energy and the bosses give you 50 energy (power) + 5, then it scales much better and works both against small mobs and bosses. Only scaling it on power is the issue.

I think a lot of people shy away from path of exile because of the epileptic strobe end game. Not seeing where you're going just dashing around the map filling it with particles. It's just not fun or engaging to a lot of people. I love seeing that out the gate they're trying to avoid that situation. Hopefully they do something that has a bit more balanced. My guess is most likely the triggered skill will have reduced damage or a built-in cooldown that's appropriate. They should however get everyone a non stacking respec at a special NPC every time they make these giant changes. Just to make it feel nice.

When it will stop happening, people will quit, because the rest of the game is designed around clearing entire screens, that's the only way to be safe in this game. That's how PoE1 was, and it appears that they have not learned their lesson: they keep monster damage very high, visual clarity is shit, random one shots still happen, etc. That's not the fault of the players, that's GGG's fault, this is the game they made. In PoE1 they told us that that the monster damage is so high because players are too fast. Now that players are slow, monster damage is still even higher than it was in PoE1, so what's the point?

The sorc absolutely sucks. Cast on freeze, which the game feels like it wants you to play, was the only thing that felt good. I didn't even follow a guide just made my own mediocre build I didn't even know Jung had it like that lol. Now the character I have 40 hours on is bricked because I spent all my gold yesterday buying vendor gear to roll because I needed to upgrade. I tried clearing the area i was in for gold. It took 30 minutes with my nerfed build and i got 2k gold. Its gonna cost me 180k gold to respec. Wtf. And forget rerolling, the campaign isnt that enjoyable and how do i know the next build i make isn't gonna get shit canned

there's an expectation when it comes to "balance". if you just make everything above the line worse, but does not change anything below the bottom, then its not a balance. it has to work both ways. not just "i think you should take longer to kill that boss, between 10 minutes and infinity". we already went through that song and dance in poe1. and the results was a mass downvote, and them suddenly changing things like stop trying to force archnemesis. dont forget, D4 also started with amazing reviews, and everyone praising it. until they started nerfing everything. and now look at where its at. is PoE2 going the same route? cant say, too early to tell, but they are pointing to a surprisingly similar style...

My fellow Cast on Freeze comet players, your character isn't 100% bricked, just drop cast on freeze, go archmage (use call of the brotherhood topaz unique ring) or if you didnt mana stack go elemental conflux + that unique ring and blueflame braces (unique gloves), drop your trigger nodes on the tree, use them elsewhere for damage, i went crit. Go Spark linked with acceleration, fork, pierce you can add other gems if you have 4th or 5th slot. Get lightning warp for culling, link it with whatever, i have soul drain cause im mana stack, add flame wall for free damage use it for rares/bosses, frost bomb, hypothermia, frost wall. Map clear speed with spark is just as fast if not faster sometimes and less mana problems. if you go elemental conflux, consider adding mana tempest for nuking bosses.

Alienating your players is never a good idea. The fanboys that are extremely happy people got nerfed don't run companies. Lots of games suffer because of changes and reduce player numbers. In the past 7 years poe 1 has broken 50k players on steam for 1 month in April 2024. If 5% of poe2 players quit that don't like the change that would be 464,000 x .05 = 23,200 nearly 50% of poe 1s highest month. The change feels like a Diablo 4 update tbh.

People are delusional, they want to 1 shot every boss and get the best loot in a week. One thing I grant them: Fair, we are early testers, but for this exact reason, respec costs should be way lower. Currently it costs so much you need to nolife the game to have the amount of money, but people who can't nolife can't just start a new char from scratch or grind for that money, not logical.

The nerf was never the legitimate issue. Anyone jousting with the "my build got nerfed" stance/crowd is straw manning. The issue is the respec cost. A free one-time use token that wipes your passive tree and the nerf would've never been a big issue. And just because it's early access doesn't mean it can't be fun. Let people have fun in a game they paid for, no matter what stage of the game it is.

They 1000% need to make the respec cost exaclty 0 gold not 1 - 2 - 300 or 400000. ZERO. You cant get an excuse because the game is early access and stuff are meant to be tested and balance but you cant apply the same for gold respec. This is BS. Make the respec free till the end of the early access. Then when the game is more balanced return the gold respec. I dont know whats up with devs not wanting us to respec. I am boggled with this. NO i am not going to make 20 characters to test things. I will make 1 or 2 then if i cant respec i wont play till the next season or whatever. Why not give me the incetive to play MORE and as i play more i will PAY more in the shop... Really dont get it.
