What is happening to Part Stores? After spending 48 years of my life and currently working part-time in one I can tell you that it is getting harder to find Parts since Covid. Several suppliers simply went out of business. Majority of parts from regular part stores to dealerships are no longer built in America. Before I retired in 2021 I worked at a GM dealership. Prepping for inventory just before I retired I decided to count how many parts were produce outside of America. 72 percent of the parts in our inventory was produce in different countries. Next time you purchase a part look on the package to see where it was manufactured at.

Green Mountains are good. Wore mine out. Bottom fell out after too many times firing. Yoder Smokers from Yoder Kanas are my new go to. Over 1000 lbs of meat smoked in November and December. One trick with the poppers. If they are a little too hot for some. Par boil the peppers for a couple minutes in salted water before stuffing and wrapping. It takes some of the jalapeno bite out without taking all the flavor. Another fun one to try is a boneless chicken thigh seasoned with a sweet hot rub, wrap with bacon and season with a little sweet hot rub, smoke at 275 until the bacon starts to crisp, brush with real maple syrup and return to smoker to set the glaze. You will have a moist thigh wrapped with a bacon candy. I can almost taste the poppers.

I manufacturer retail displays, and biggest problem I'm seeing is the older generation retiring and the people replacing them just don't care anymore. Now this is not 100% a cross the board still some fine vendors producing quality stuff. But COVID and China have slowly replaced high quality manufacturing with that'll do. We wind up re-working so much stuff. Now on the plus side though our internal fabrication team has grown as a result, and I was able to get jobs for a bunch of guys who would been out of work for years. They guy running my model shop is a personal friend whom I got the job for and he's as old school as they come and man has our manufacturing and prototyping turned around in the past year. What we wind up doing is sending our own people around to vendors to babysit and make sure stuff is made correct.
@theusconstitution177615 күн бұрын
100% agreed I worked in the oil and propane business every aspect of it for 35 years. The replacements have LIMITED OR NO PRIDE CANNOT PLAN AHEAD QUALITY is not in their vocabulary. They’ve all been taught to do things as FAST😳 They don’t want to learn FROM THE VETERANS WHO’VE BEEN DOING IT FOR 30 😢 Many show little respect to their elders veterans in the trade😡 AND they demand the same money as the guy who’s been doing it for 30 years and they have excelled at everything I’ve mentioned above plus face-to-face customer service. That is the biggest area that the replacements are lacking in their communication skills suck all around😔 When you lean in as their supervisor with 35 years of experience, they can’t be bothered 😢 They better hurry up and come up with a robot. That’s gonna replace these guys, because otherwise there won’t be any new business because they’ll be BALLS TO THE WALL DOING ONLY CALLBACKS! And when you tell them that the good LORD GAVE THEM TWO YEARS AND ONE MOUTH FOR A REASON. They complain to your supervisor 💩

Most republican construction companies take advantage of illegal immigrant labor and ship jobs over seas. As a carrier of titanium in 3 limbs out of 4, (two different insertions, 2010 R forearm, 2015 R femur & L shin!), I don't wish to discourage you, but it doesn't get any easier. It's not the parts stores problem. It's about manufacturers and resellers/distributors or what you call them in English. The same problem is occuring around the world. Some time ago you could pick a brand that gave you almost 100% guarantee that you'll find qulity parts inside the box. Nowadays you can find the same crap everywhere. Literally the same - sometimes the numbers or logos are grind off, but those are still the same crappy parts. Well, who could imagine, that outsourcing almost the whole production to China (or Asia in general) could cause that, huh? Somehow things that a 10-year old kid could figure out are completly unimaginable for most CEO's and mid-level management. Frankly, I think it astually is imaginable for them, but they just don't give a shit in long-term, because when a company will be ruined by that, they'll be long gone CEO-ing in another corporation and the bank account balance sure checks out for them.
