The second and third incidents are both in Loveland Colorado. This got me curious so I looked up that department and I found a LOT of bad stuff. First of all the cop who shot Herkimer had gotten in trouble in the past for using excessive force to arrest an elderly woman with dementia but aside from him I found an officer who approached two minors in the park, tells one of them to leave, leads the other to a secluded part of the park and SAs her. An officer punching a woman in handcuffs in the face as she’s having a mental breakdown in a hospital examination room. Another officer who wrongfully arrested someone for drunk driving despite the fact that the tests proved otherwise. An Officer kills a 19 year old during a mental health crisis. At least four former officers are on the Brady List(the list of corrupt cops)including the ex police chief.

That first one is so stupid. The cops came into the WRONG house, which is their fault, they should have double checked the address, and when entering onto the homeowners property who had not committed any crimes, they shoot the dog that comes out when they open the door with intent to search the place, then they get no punishments whatsoever for their actions. Fun fact. Officers trespassed on my yard. My dog bit an officer. I heard the chaos in the pack yard and seen my dog getting ahold of a fully black dressed person. No lights. I put 3 in his vest. Spent a week in jail. But my cameras proved I was protecting my home. And thankfully my dog Gypsy is alive. Apparently she learned things from hunting with me. And kept pulling the officers gun hand down. Never tried to hurt him lethally. But. Tried to get rid of what she knew was lethal. 1 black eye. A broken pinky and bruised ribs. All charges were dropped. No settlement. I just remember the other officers telling me “you better pray he doesn’t die or that’s the rest of your life” funny fact they were 2 miles away from their “trap house” they were raiding. My house ain’t even close to being considered that crap. I’m glad the officer is okay. But the conduct of the others was garbage. My then 6 and 4 year old and wife were upstairs. Not one time did he say he was police. He pointed. I let 6-7 rip. Strongest gang in the world is in blue and I ain’t talking crips

I'm a software engineer and there are systems that need to have it turned off or never have it enabled to begin with specifically to avoid situations like this. Particularly data entry systems, and more specifically government data entry systems. Autocorrect is aways an optional feature. I don't even use it on my phone because of how obtrusive it is and how often it causes miscommunications. In some systems such as software IDE's and even phones you have autosuggestion features which requires the user to manually validate the correction or suggestions but even these systems aren't flawless and lead to mistakes in inputs regularly. The fact that modern devices can use autocorrect is entirely irrelevant to whether or not it should be using them for any given application. One such system that should NEVER have them enabled is in police and judicial data entry systems, specifically because it causes mistakes to happen automagically.

The couple trespassed and didn't have their dogs on leashes. When you slow down the footage, you can see the dog is a young puppy and isn't being aggressive. Unfortunately, humans live in real time and have to react to the situation as it's perceived; we don't have privilege of slowing time as it happens. The cop only screwed up by not letting them go to the vet and also trying to cover it up.

They need a warrant, and need to clarify why they are there before you are obligated to comply, and you have a right to seek representation to clarify that they're paperwork is in order. The video of the little white jack russel broke me down. It was trying to understand what was happening to the man and was trying to protect him and the daughter who was screaming. Poor thing didn't know what to do, all it understood was the cops were causing them distress, especially when the man got tased. It broke me up further seeing the poor thing trying to comfort the man. When the owner says they're getting their dog, let them get their dog, they are the owner and know how it'll react far better than a stranger or even a K9 officer. As a canine officer they should've understood this and how protective people are of their pets. Many claim pets to be like children to them. This was completely unnecessary and only escalated the situation further, riling up an already tense situation. You don't ever carry a dog by its collar like that. You can choke them or damage their esophagus, especially when small, you can also potentially cause severe spinal injury. Dogs are sturdy creatures and I get that, but kicking them can still hurt them greatly, particularly if they're small. That was just a mess of a situation and I feel the family deserves some kind of compensation for the emotional distress beyond just charges being dismissed. The attitude being shared by one who's meant to be "professional" as they're on the job, was also upsetting, it only exacerbated everything. Maybe they need to implement a new way of handling family pets, such as dogs. Like carrying mace or something so they aren't always left with feeling the only thing useful is a round. I've seen some officers utilize the taser but I also know not all departments have funds to allow officers to carry that plus you only carry so many charges, if I'm right.
