Qualified Immunity only protects officers from CIVIL LIABILITY(Lawsuits) ONLY when their actions are within their agency's policy, and within established law & case law. Any deviations from these three areas will result in qualified immunity being nullified. It's videos like these that lead the public to think that "Qualified Immunity" is what keeps cops from getting into trouble. That is simply not the case. Qualified Immunity keeps officers from being frivolously sued in a court of law from their otherwise lawful performance.

Live in the UK, the one most irritating thing I despise is a voluntary conversation when you state to the police that you do not want to engage in the conversation, they always say "Why?" because they cannot understand why you don't want to be around them. Because anything that happens whether good or bad, I will have zero recourse against you, you have qualified immunity, and even if you do something wrong you will not get any form of actual punishment for it and I will always be viewed as the negative part of the interaction, and if in the most rarest of circumstances that I can actually take legal action against you it will be completely useless because in the UK the compensation is minimal and even the Citizens Advice Bureau advises you that legal action rarely succeeds and will cost you more money than you will receive with little to nothing of actual purpose being accomplished. Basically unless your saving my life I don't want to be around you because there are zero positive outcomes other than I leave without giving you any reason to detain me, any reason to arrest me or any reason to make you annoyed at me to do the previous two. Simply carry on, leave me alone and **** off (Oops, can't say that, its consider disturbing the peace.)

Coming from an entire family of law enforcement this is disgusting. Have had many interactions with people on drugs but cuffed i would NEVER put them face down or kneel on the persons back....We were holding someone down and my partner had his hand on the persons chest, not to hurt them but to gain control...Told him hold down by the shoulder, you wouldn't believe how fast someone can stop breathing by you holding them down by their chest....I can tell you the hiring standards have really dropped over the years...people who would make excellent cops don't want to do it because of all the crap you have to put up with....For God's sake they are letting people with misdemeanors on their records become cops....My investigator at the time said don't be hanging in the bar and don't get a parking ticket because it could jam you up getting into the academy....Never really had a problem with anyone....i was straight with them as long as they were straight with me
