@peterfilipovic
@peterfilipovic Ай бұрын
@planes3333 "Claiming that if a person can scream, then they can breathe is a fallacious assertion that overlooks the complexities of respiratory function and the various scenarios in which breathing may be compromised. This misconception arises from a simplistic understanding of the relationship between vocalization and respiration, neglecting the intricate mechanisms involved in breathing and the numerous factors that can hinder it. Firstly, it's crucial to understand that screaming primarily involves the expulsion of air from the lungs to produce sound, rather than the intake of oxygen necessary for sustaining life. While screaming requires the ability to exhale forcefully, it does not necessarily indicate unimpeded airflow into the respiratory system. Breathing encompasses both inhalation and exhalation, and the ability to perform one does not guarantee the capability to execute the other. Moreover, the capacity to scream can persist even when breathing is compromised. In cases of partial airway obstruction or respiratory distress, individuals may still be able to produce vocalizations such as screams or shouts due to the residual air in their lungs. However, this does not signify adequate oxygenation or ventilation, as the obstruction impedes the flow of air into the lungs, leading to oxygen deprivation and potential respiratory failure. Furthermore, there are instances where individuals may scream involuntarily or reflexively, such as in moments of extreme fear or pain, regardless of their ability to breathe adequately. These reflexive screams do not necessarily reflect the individual's respiratory status but rather serve as instinctual responses to perceived threats or distressing stimuli. Additionally, certain medical conditions or injuries can result in the paradoxical ability to scream despite impaired breathing. For example, individuals with conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or respiratory muscle weakness may experience dyspnea (difficulty breathing) yet retain the ability to vocalize under certain circumstances. In emergency situations, the assumption that a person can breathe because they are screaming can lead to grave consequences if not promptly addressed. Failure to recognize the signs of respiratory distress or airway obstruction and relying solely on vocalizations as indicators of breathing can delay appropriate intervention, exacerbating the individual's condition and increasing the risk of adverse outcomes. In conclusion, the assertion that if a person can scream, then they can breathe is erroneous and oversimplified. Breathing involves a complex interplay of physiological processes, and the ability to produce vocalizations does not necessarily correlate with adequate respiration. It is essential to recognize the distinction between vocalization and respiration, and to assess breathing independently of other actions or behaviors, particularly in situations where respiratory compromise may be present."

And the fact you can really tell that her mom really loves her and that it pains her to even do this to her. But she also needs to know that sometimes the best way to help your children is to let them go. Because if they really loved them, they would get better and return. Otherwise, she might be unfortunately continuing the cycle of drinking, then lashing out.

The drunken idiot at the end shows us all the horror of alcoholism. His poor mother and dog! My twin brother was a drunk and it was terrible to be around him when he was 'fried'. The horrible things he would say to us made me cut most interactions off but a few times a year we would talk on the phone. One day my daughter called from her university campus in another state stating that my lovely brother had tracked her down and called her at her campus job to tell her he was going to kill her. We didn't alert law enforcement b/c we knew there wasn't any proof, but we cut him out of our lives forever. If he called any of us in my family we would instantly hang up. He died of Covid in 2022; his ex-wife found him dead on the bathroom floor. He's gone to the hospital a week or so before and been diagnosed but left the hospital later that day against doctor's orders. He was 69 yrs. Alcoholism can be as destructive as meth or heroin and it can ruin families. I've seen it first hand.

I am a middle child of 3 kids... all of us raised the exact same, and all 3 of us ended up differently... im the only one that hasnt been sent to jail, evicted, i graduated highschool and they barely got GEDs, and i got a college degree, joined the service and am independent. Raised my child with some changes, but mostly the same. Shes absolutely insane, self centered, delusional, narcissistic and manipulative. Shes been in mental health wards 15 times and shes not even 18... shes put me in the hospital many times. Parents arent always the cause of the behavior of a child. Sometimes it is a direct result of the childs repeated choices. I wish we knew why theyd choose this kind of life... it makes no logical sense, and it's so heart breaking to watch. Trying to save or help them always gets us hurt, too... its awful
@jacklow9611
@jacklow9611 Ай бұрын
You may have thought you and your siblings were all raised the same, but there are very subtle differences between how most parents raise and treat middle children as compared to the oldest and youngest. I, too, am a middle child, and while I was never really deprived or ignored, I noticed that my older sister and younger brother were given a bit more latitude than I was in many ways, and they could get away with things that I never even dreamed of trying (more than once, if then).

each person is different, regardless of how they were raised. Good parenting can sometimes help a struggling child, but many times family counseling is needed or maybe the child needs medication. but if your child is allowed to be violent towards you, they will repeat it. My son only threatened me and he got arrested. You have to do tough love
@brianm4178

@carlariggs525 we had gone through many and she'd been on many meds. She would throw things, scream, launch verbal assaults ans March out of any counseling that started going in any direction related to her, in any negative form. Ans unfortunately, there were never consequences for her, due to her age always being the excuse for all medical professionals, mental health experts, foster homes (after she hospitalized me a 3rd time and they took her away... she got kicked out of 3 foster homes too) and not even when she'd damage property, stole a car, robbed a store or anytime she's run away or jumped into moving traffic as a hissy fit (she's insane) so she's learned that she is untouchable. Everyone tells her 18 is a different matter but she's always heard what she wants, this is no different. Just 3 days ago, she ran away because we wouldn't take her put to dinner, because she didn't do her homework or any house chores the entire week. Literally blackmailed us in front of the cops, she's 17 and an adult when conducting criminal activity... and they just brought her back... again... we aren't alloeed to take her phone, or laptop or anything because they consider it a form of abuse via isolation, so basic discipline as a consequence is also not available as a motivation for behavioral improvement... it's impossible

Yup, I'm the middle child out of 3 kids. We were all raised the same. My sister can be an absolute menace, is very verbally abusive to our mother sometimes, dropped out of highschool when she literally only need 2 more credits to graduate, has a dopehead boyfriend who she Let's manipulate her, and probably does drugs. Smokes weed daily and drinks a lot of alcohol. Me? Finished gighschool, started college but dropped out when I realized it wasn't for me, go me an airforce boyfriend, got pregnant, got married, live in a nice house on base, and now we have a gorgeous 16 month old boy. My younger brother? Graduated highschool with almost perfect grades, went to a well-known university, has one more year left of college, coaches basketball to kids, and is gonna be a coach at our old highschool. Anyone who thinks it's the parents' fault how a kid turns out is absolutely idiotic.

I had a friend that always claimed that her boyfriends were abusing her. Then one day I was at her place drinking with her and her boyfriend plus an ex that was the father of one of the three kids. She was antagonising both of them to create a fight, during which she threw a glass at the face of her ex, over absolutely nothing. That guy, days later took me to a place they had been living to show me the holes in the wall that she claimed he had done. Those holes were the size and shape of her fist, not his. I had seen signs of her aggression but it had obviously been escalating. She even lied to get me to rescue her from that ex at one point by claiming he had stolen her cards, leaving no access to funds. I went through her bag while she was asleep and found out that the entire claim was another big lie. She had those cards all along and was just creating drama for entertainment. Regardless of the facts and consequences for anybody involved. Upon reflection of our friendship and the details regarding the violence, she was the common factor and the cause of the BS. She also liked calling police whenever she didn't get her way.
