I think the reason why Mr. Goss doesn't garner the same type of treatment from cosmetic companies is because he has a radically different tone and aesthetic than most youtube beauty gurus. When you watch Mr. Goss, you know that he considers himself a makeup artist 1st and a youtube personality 2nd. With that being the case, he doesn't hyperextend his personality for the sake of views (no high pitched voice, no glamour shots, no synth music intros. He doesn't abuse the word "obsessed"). His videos are straight to the point, no 3 minute gapped filled with useless conversation before getting to the tutorial. In other words, he's actually a professional and takes his job seriously. You'd be surprised with how often this can get in the way of things.....

Wayne - just quit addressing gossip, rudeness or criticism as it does not matter. When you are in the public eye these things exist. Those that follow you like you and get something from your videos. You would not be human if criticism did not bother you, but to respond is a waste of time - it won't change them. Do what you do and enjoy it - ignore the rest. I watch several channels and it has gotten to where the ones I enjoy the most block bullies and delete rude comments. It has gotten too prevalent on the Internet and is only encouraged when they get a response from anyone. So, if you can quit responding to the crap that is out there.

+Rebecca White - at times people in the public eye will have something serious that just has to be addressed. But things like this are best ignored. There are people that just enjoy chaos and often they are very young. The public and KZbin feed into their drama and it winds up taking over a channel. Videos like this are not something I care for and I think if sponsored videos have been discussed once that is adequate - after that just put below the videos that it is sponsored or is was or wasn't paid for. The majority of people who watch Wayne want to see the instructional, information and personal when needed. I have just seen too many channels let this sort of thing take over and I finally have to quit watching and I don't want that on his channel. Generally Wayne keeps this in perspective but of late he has commented too often on companies not sending him things, what is or isn't paid for and petty gossip. Those that follow Wayne know the truth, new people will figure it out.

Having been in advertising and marketing for over a decade it is gross to see the product peddlers most of them have turned into. They might as well be pulling a cart in streets selling "snake oil " out of them. You are special and have a gift that genuine hearted people recognize and relate too. Just keep pressing on and I know how proud your mom must be of you. Money isn't worth losing yourself for and you will be blessed more in the long run! Wayne, I have followed your channel for years - even before the product reviews came along, I remember you did all these amazing contouring videos and I used to watch them over and over again. I learnt how to contour from you. And this was even before the other KZbin 'artists' came along with their own videos. You needn't even show us the receipts - I know many of your long time followers and I believe in the work that you are doing. Dear Wayne; just recently I decided to go back as when I was younger, and pay attention to my make up. I went through serious depression, came out of it (almost), and browsed the internet to find someone like you. Passionate, down to earth and so honest and genuine. It is so obvious and powerful, I simply can't have enough of your videos. No doubt it is frustrating, this is the cruel world. You can win only by being who you are, and you are doing it so well. You worked hard to build your small business, and you continue doing so. There is no company, corporation or "name" that can take that away as you have control of your life and business. You didn't have to do this video for me, you are absolutely one of the most genuine people on KZbin and that Shines through. When someone chooses to not see this in you they obviously see you as some kind of threat. When you are this real and transparent it makes people nervous because they know you cannot be bought. It's a shame you should feel you have to justify yourself to these people. It does seem odd why you aren't sent products as freely as others. Perhaps, and this is only a theory, many of these products are available on the premise that they receive a good review. That being said, I've watched your videos for years now and don't believe you would lie about products I order to get freebies. Perhaps it says more about those who ARE bombarded with free products than yourself. Integrity is the key word here. You deliver quality over quantity. Thank you for your expertise and honesty.

How wonderful and refreshing it is to see someone share a piece of themselves that they should never of had to. I find your videos SOOOO incredibly helpful, your tutorial for beginner hooded eyes was so instrumental in me "getting it right". I have a VERY small KZbin channel, I'll probably NEVER end up on anyone's PR list and that's OK. Some big KZbinr's I follow on Snapchat and see all of the items they receive and I think, WOW...but I don't begrudge them BUT when they do a review it isn't always clear that they received the items for free or even sponsored videos are only accounted for in a small blurb in the description box. Your videos are always straight forward and SOOOO incredibly helpful. As for your brushes, at this time they are out of reach for me but MOST definitely on my wishlist. I am a stroke survivor and because of this I have issues with control so you can imagine a good quality brush is of utmost importance and time after time I hear such AMAZING things about YOUR brushes and how they are so worth the investment. sorry to go on and on but I teared up listening to you spoil your story of your childhood out for all to see and it saddens me that you even had to. Just know that your fans are 100% supportive of you and always will be.

So many of us care about you so much because you not only give us invaluable advice about makeup, techniques, and the best tools to use for the best effects - among so many other things - but you always give us your honest opinion, your reasons behind your opinions, and the ability to back them up. Wayne, you are not only an amazingly talented makeup artist who shares his knowledge in a way that most of us can understand and try to make our own, but you are an amazing person who 's sincerity and honesty shines through the camera and makes us feel like we are sharing time and learning from a friend. Not many other "KZbin Gurus" have this type of magical presence - part of it may possibly come from how hard you had to work to get to where you are. The big "brands" are idiots if they can't see how valuable you would be trying out their products and giving your honest opinion. Mr. Goss, when I started watching tutorials over 2 years ago, I loved to see yours. You're so honest and open, and it's obvious that you aren't on the payroll like many other KZbin beauty bloggers. It's easy to trust you and your opinions because you aren't getting commissions from all of these companies. Wayne, the reason I've always been drawn to your videos is because you have always seemed to me to be honest, passionate and you're extremely talented. The fact that you have over 2 million subscribers on your main channel and have over 300,000 on this one shows that there are so many more people who care for you than the ones who want to slander you, its just unfortunate that they tend to stand out. You never talk about being sent things when reviewing products, you always say you got them yourself. You're honest about stupid new beauty trends and when makeup is for photography and would look crazy in person. You're set up is plain and simple as to not detract from what you want to say. I think the fact that your brushes sold out in 5 minutes is an amazing way to show how many people think that you're incredible! I would love to get my hands on your next brush set but alas, as a uni student myself I can't afford them, one day when your on set 20 because everyone loves them I will be able to get them (thats how it feels with student loans anyway!)
