Honestly the issue with the new version isn’t even that it’s bad. It’s just up against probably one of the most iconic battle themes in gaming history. It’s insanely hard to top perfection and the fact I can say it’s close enough to the original is a compliment in it of itself. There’s really nothing they could’ve done that would make it better than the original theme in a lot of people’s eyes.

they took out the thing that made persona music, persona music which is more engrish. its down-down-down-down rather than dadadada, so her putting more emphasis into her da's just makes it sound different as well as the baby. that and whenever she does say baby it sort of goes downward in tune while she seems to struggle keeping into one line when she goes up with the dadadada. Not to mention the "nerfed" the beat drop which was always the most replayed part, the harmony between the vocals, the piano and trumpets made it so beautiful and unique.

It’s way more obvious when someone is off when it’s the vocals compared to music as people like to sing along to the songs they like, even if it’s in their heads and switching the way the chorus is sung makes it super unsatisfying to hear to players who know the original and are used to hearing ‘babeh babeh’ rather than hearing the sharp e sound at the end of baby in reload. The same goes for the verse where ‘right here shadow ten o’clock direction’ Goes from being ‘die-reck-tion’ to ‘d’rection’. It plays with our brains but not in a way that a musical deceptive cadence would, it just makes us feel unsatisfied
