As most of your stories are not world history changing events and quite often localised to your area, they are mostly stories of lives and events I was completely unaware of and find absolutely fascinating. A good story is also dependent on the teller and I find the content on this channel to be thoroughly researched and well presented. Keep up the good work. I’m a new subscriber now binge watching the back catalogue. Thanks

Good video again, thank you. It’s great to hear of ordinary people- yet one couldn’t consider him ordinary. It shows how much infants must have interactions with parents or guardians etc. obviously that’s how they learn and there’s a time frame for it. Boy boy - and man . He was perhaps dumped as unwanted but of an age to sort of care for himself. Maybe he got lost ? But I can’t see how, surely there would have been a hue and cry. Poor poor person. I feel so sorry for him but I loved how the last man kept looking for him, he just didn’t ignore that he’d run away . That was lovely. Thank you again 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺. Prayers for his soul

Fascinating story, and very sad ending. It’s nice that he is remembered and locals still lay flowers at his gravestone. Very well told, and I’ll certainly be checking out more. Thank you very much for posting and well done! Subscribed 👍👏

Thank goodness most people are better informed and more educated these days, however, there are still those who condemn those with unfortunate conditions of health , both physical and mental. It is a blessing to see that Peter is still remembered . Thank you for your story. 🌹

I suppose he can't have been very young when he was abandoned in the forest, otherwise he just wouldn't have had the skills to survive. I imagine he must have been at least 6 or 7 or so, if not even older. So what I find strange is that when they asked around the local villages, no one knew anything. You'd think people would remember the little boy who walked on all-fours and had such distinctive features. Unless his family were so ashamed of him and aware of the stigma around mental disability and "animal" behaviour, that they kept him a secret in their home and eventually couldn't cope anymore so they abandoned him in the forest. If that's what happened, it's very sad that the stigma and shame were so great.

Really, people were not unkind. Even today, we do not really understand how best to help and care for humans who lack the skill s required to exercise real human agency on a social context. Such people are still born today. They need care, and, even today, are often abandoned by their families, if they do not have the resources to care for them.

I will say though I am loving your channel and the way you work, it is a bit of cheek that without actual evidence they claim oh he had "this" given some very old artwork and nobody living as proof. There are many "feral" type people who are not in anyway impaired. This chap maybe required teaching when it would have helped him (pre 7 years young). Elsewise, a great video.

True I can see where you are coming from with that. I think it was more of a best guess kind of thing not just working from the picture but written description of his behaviour.
