This puts a smile on my face every time - resisting arrest will cause more harm to you and the officer, and you also get longer jail times and higher fines for your trouble! The best thing you can do is just say "I respectfully decline to answer your questions at this time". 99.9% of the people arrested incriminate themselves thinking they can talk there way out of it. Do yourself a favor, be nice, be respectful, do not resist, and if they are asking you questions say "I respectfully decline to answer your questions at this time". Call someone you trust, and have them call a good lawyer or if you have a good lawyer then call them directly. If you follow these measures you will find yourself in a much better position to come out on top!

I have been arrested numerous times and if you don't act like a fool you are perfectly fine. That includes one arrest by a narcotics task force where the undercover tossed a revolver on the bed just before the rest of them stormed the room and threw me on the same bed. We all know what would have happened if I went for the weapon. But it doesn't stop there. I was taken down town and handcuffed by my left arm to an eyebolt in the table. At one point the detective said he would be right back and he left his keys on the table and the door open to the interrogation room. He was gone about 10 minutes. When he came back I suggested that next time he shouldn't leave his handcuff keys on the table and the door open. All he did was smile
