Yes, Prince William is lovely and will do fine, but you might have missed the part of the documentary in which they say William has his mother's looks, but has the personality of his father's side of the family. Likewise, they state Harry resembles his grand-father in looks, but strongly inherited his mother Diana's commoner, grounded, and compassionate personality.

If you are not interested in going back 4 generations, and the complicated 18 years after her birth, and her suffering as a "child of adultery" then you are just repeating false gossip. This documentary tries to have it both ways. "Charles was committed to Camilla before his marriage to Diana". "Charles didn't commit adultery until his marriage had broken down." Let's ignore that Charles and Camilla committed adultery together during Camilla's marriage. Diana knew before her wedding about her fiance's mistress and knew someone had invited said mistress to her wedding. That's not a good start for any marriage. Diana was barely 20 and innocent enough to imagine that affair would end with her marriage. She discovered her mistake the hard way and by then the damage was done.

1:08 Wrong Sir. It's not that she was suitable. It's simply that both she and William spent a considerable amount of time together at University as acquaintances, friends, bf/gf etc. He helped her to understand what royal life is like. So she had a good idea of the realities. Diana didn't have that with Charles from the get-go... Mr "whatever love is.." . He didn't take that personal, one-on-one time with her as her friend or husband. Diana was looking for love and she didn't get it. Diana was an aristocrat, and knew full well what her duties would be. Charles did all he could to help her, but let's face it: Borderline Personality Disorder _will not_ be helped, until the individual realizes that they really are the problem. Diana resisted mental health help at first, but finally realized that she needed help. And just for the curious: Diana was the first in that couple to have affairs. Plural. Charles finally returned to Camilla.

@@threadbear7609 did you read Diana's childhood history and upbringing? She's an aristocrat yes but not not the level that Charles was. Charles was a cold fish. Had he taken the time to build a relationship with Diana who was young and experiencing first love/first serious relationship they would have had a better connection. Why didn't he see that! Charles was a little boy in a man's body. He should have had more support around him. To help him to be a well rounded person early on. Perhaps than he might not have been so attracted to Camilla. He leaned on Camilla because he had no one in his life to nurture and guide him. That was not Diana's fault. The reason there was drama in his marriage to Diana was BECAUSE he was in love with his mistress. The situation was Charles' fault for one reason only...he didn't have the balls (at the age of 32!) to tell mummy and daddy that he would NOT marry someone he didn't care for. Penny Juno "he always was a good father". Good father's don't cheat and gaslight their children's mother. Prince Philip was indeed The Queen's strength. She went downhill after he died and lived just 17 months longer. There will never be another like Queen Elizabeth II.

I really enjoyed this! It was honest and respectful to each prince. Harry will always be my favorite.

8:50 perhaps you could have mentioned that the sisters had married Nazi's instead of glossing over that by saying they were Germans going through denazification? After all, the queen and consort we just as German but didn't marry Nazis.

I think if they were going through denazification then it goes without saying that they belonged to the party.

@@mamavswild not necessarily. Put yourself back then. These women married a German title prior to the full knowledge of what Germany would become. During this time, the husband (royalty then) could have become nazis because it was a way of keeping power or maybe believers. The wives were raised with their German parents and grandparents plus in a time when wives were expected to support their husbands. I'm not excusing them. I'm just saying try to put yourself in their VERY different shoes. Some might have influenced their indifferent husbands to join to maintain the power they had. That absolutely happened too.

@26:41 They say "Her Majesty didn't kiss him (Charles) or put her arms around him. What does that say?" She clearly, bends down, puts her hands round him, holds him close for a moment (as she has many people needing her attention), and kisses him on the left cheek Her Majesty, Phillip and all her children do not perform public displays of affection. Diana did it, as it flew in the face of the norm.

My mother and father were not affectionate people, not one bit. They were working class, almost poor really, factory workers but good provider so good parents in what counts, secure home, good private schooling, food, clothes. No kisses or hugs though.

Truth being told...I almost ended a long lasting friendship when I found out that he had been out playing football, while I sat crying and watching prince Phillips funeral at home. I litterly felt Phillip and Mountbatten being present there, in full uniform and bantering between them...When the piper turned around walking slowly towards the outside, playing his favorite hymn, I lost it ...😭😭By the way, my friend is still my friend😊 Prince Phillip was the backbone of the Dynasty...Charles is so prepared and ready, and Camilla will be the most wonderful queen. I love the UK and this royal family. Its living history 😘😘

Literally. Litterly is not a word, and if it were, might have something to do with kitty-litter, or refuse for the wastebasket...
