She isn't one to show her emotions but I think it's safe to say that you're absolutely correct. She must miss him terribly and even being surrounded by your children and grandchildren doesn't cover it. She feels something she has never felt before with the loss of her husband whom shes been with her entire adult life. My Uncle John lost my Aunt Audrey this past summer in Scotland. They're married for 60 years and he makes his way to her grave every day and then back to their lonely home. It's heartbreaking and scary.

In those times it was more common to break a boy's spirit in the name of making him tougher or into a MAN! and for a father wanting to make his son into his own image. Phillip didn't understand that. When the "Fim" came to NZ on a visit prior too Charles being married to Diana, Philip was like a sheep dog rounding up an 'erant' Charles who was wanting to meet & greet - something his mother failed to do, as she stuck firmly in the middle of the walk-space, not looking anywhere but Strait ahead. I met Charles, however briefly, before Philip came up & shooed Charles back into mid stream. Charles has been met with on tour with the Duchess since & a good conversation ensued with both partys.

did anyone notice that all four children of queen Elizabeth inherited their dad, prince Philip's ears? its just that people still find Philip to be more 'conventionally attractive' than his sons despite having a big nose and big ears. no to mention that Charles got the same lips like his father if you look closely but he definitely got the queen's smile. princess Anne is the most similar to Philip, she ultimately like his female counterpart but she also inherited her mother's smile just like her brothers. the most interesting part is the royal matriarchs contribute more genetics in terms of typical facial features than the men, the faces of queen Alexandra of Denmark, queen Mary of Teck and queen Elizabeth queen mother are the basis of the Windsors today.

Charles should have been proud of his wife and supported her. But he wanted it to be all about him. He should have realized that she was popular not only because she was a good and giving Princess but because she was married to him! The queens eldest son! The future King of England! Why didn't he see that! Charles was a little boy in a man's body. He should have had more support around him. To help him to be a well rounded person early on. Perhaps than he might not have been so attracted to Camilla. He leaned on Camilla because he had no one in his life to nurture and guide him. That was not Diana's fault. She was young and he was immature. They both needed parenting and a strong supporter in their lives. They could have been a wonderful couple if that was the case. They probably would have had more children as well. And Camilla should have kept away and out of the way. She sadly, will never be fully accepted as the appropriate person for Prince Charles
