what you forget is without these rules, costs in r&d will sky rocket making the series too expensive for a lot of teams. but with BOP, you don't have a cost cap, but you also have competitive racing which is what people want. teams also don't need to be constantly developing like in F1.

Personally the development of F1 cars is what keeps me interested, it’s mostly filled with periods of domination, but the actual development of the cars from the beginning to the end of a regulation era is very interesting to me

I don‘t think so. It would have a performance window like normal gt3 but 5sec faster. No open end developement needed

@@justadummy8076The High Cost however prevents a lot of teams from Joining. The news regs is what made WEC for a lot of new constructors like Mclaren, and BMW. Lamborghini also joining in Hypercar

Looking at an AMG GT's silhouette you wouldn't think it'd be the kind of car that would destroy records; especially compared to that Brabham which was basically built for the track.

It's a really good handling car, I was sad when I finished all B3 events in Gear Club because I couldn't use the AMG GT anymore

You could talk about the McLaren F1 GTR and the Aston Martin DBR9 in your next video of "obnoxious race cars". I just love these cars. I mean, nothing better than a british V12 Le Mans winner (and because I find them beautiful AND bc I used to play with the F1 in GRID Autosport)

I do have a storyboard focusing on British engineering as well. Im having lots of trouble just narrowing which 3 or 4 to highlight. Thanks for the feedback, now I'll definitely have to include the F1 GTR. It may need to be a two part video!

Technically AMG outsources the production of their race cars. They are built by HWA. A company owned by the founder of AMG. And the building is right next to AMG’s facility. So yes, it is still AMG, but not legally

I think one of the coolest examples of unregulated cars is what porsche did with the 919 evo. That thing absolutely obliterated every track and record they threw it on, all because they decided to see what'd happen without the pesky rules of lmp1.

If you ever want to see what GT3's can do without BOP watch the Imperio Endurance Brazil Championship. GT3's don't have BOP in any form. I know they have replays on their youtube channel but I don't know about live races.

While the focus of this one wasn't so much on outright pace, you could arguably include the old 997 GT3 R Hybrid from 2010-11 in the same category of racecars that were based on GT3, but with an extra twist.

"Racing" should just throw out the rulebooks every 10 years and start again. 4 tires, displacement limits and minimums. minimum dry weight, and minimum and maximum wet weight ............... then let the engineers do their thing.
