He was my neighbor in Georgia, he lived in a garage turned into room with his mum right next to street stadium which was used for football by kids all the time. But whenever i went at stadium to play some football he was there getting shots up for hours non-stop on a broken basketball rim. Worked hard since he was a kid if anyone deserves success in basketball it’s him, so incredibly happy and proud of him

Jarrett Allen and Isaiah Hartenstein also come to mind here, both showed some ability to shoot and were used on the 3 pt line from time to time on their previous teams, and both really thrived when they really focused on what they were best at: defense, P&Rs with their guards, high post facilitating in Hartenstein's case, and finishing in the lane for both of them

@@binrui1999I mean they really had no choice for Rookie Domas. He was a bad PnR roll man. So next to MVP level Russ, they really had no other options for him. Just cause Sabonis later turned into an All-NBA caliber guy, doesn’t mean that his rookie season should have gone any other way.

yeah, as a rockets fan I was pretty pissed when he left I was saying this forever that Isaiah needed minutes especially with how good his floater was lucky enough we got ALP another big man that’s not the best at shooting but he’s literally good at everything else I think about it like this is three point shooting so important that you’re willing to sacrifice rebounding unless you’re like Kristaps Porziņģis type of shooting for a big it’s not worth it because Boston has games where they’re gonna die by the three pointer and it’s gonna happen because the way they play they have five people out every single time they’re lucky they get rebounds every once in a while but when they don’t they’re getting their ass kicked a better example would be the Golden State Warriors win their shot isn’t hitting they don’t have big man that can get rebounds effectively unless you count Looney who doesn’t play nearly enough to warrant that play, I mean fuck yesterday they just got their ass whooped because none of their shots were hitting and we’re never getting rebounds .

As an Orlando Fan, right now, he is one of my favorite guys. He is still young enough to have a great career and it seems he has found a good role with the Magic. But besides his skill, he just seems to be a really nice guy and a hard worker. I wanna see him succeed and I also hope it's a bit of an eye opening for other coaches. You need to find the best place for the player and his skills, not build a new player with skills you want. It's not like a game where you can choose the attributes especially not mental.

It’s just overall helping a team that isn’t that good at shooting anyways especially with all their stars out. We’re second chance opportunities are gonna be more critical. When you don’t have your stars that you trust to get you some buckets I mean Jalen Suggs right not is there top scorer right now

My brain has a weird "small name/insignificant/unheard of" player memory profile, even from WAY back. So it is guys like him and other more "insurance policy" players I remember best. The problem here is, goga can still shoot the ball. 35% is solid depending on the team that's around you and the opportunity that you get. Think Luke kornet, but if he was given a role like goga in Boston

yeah, I think the NBA is realizing that three-pointers are good and all but that’s not worth it. If it means you’re significantly sacrificing your self on the glass like there’s gonna be games we’re playing five out is not sustainable unless you’re the Celtics and you have so much fire power that he’s in with a bad three-point game could still make it up because of the star power and even they get their ass kicked once in a while when the the 3 isn’t hitting so my opinion having a rim running Big that can get you use some easy buckets second chance points, or just to help save a possession to kick it out to your shooters for one more chance is way more important to me than having a center that can kind of hit threes and it’s not like he can’t shoot. He just doesn’t unless he’s wide-open.

Between zion and goga. Goga is the opposite. Zion is always injured but performs well but Goga by far was mostly available to every game Zion is the power forward equivalent of Ben Simmons: always injured weight issues. Goga is a great passer great defender and rebounder who is almost averaging a double stats of almost 10 ppg and almost 10 rebounds per game for this season. I think if goga can be more agressive if he improves his shooting and his inside scoring goga is by far the steal in the draft

Ben Simmons main issue was never his availability, in fact Ben Simmions before his melt down was on the court more than Joel for us. His issue was his inability to imporve on the offensive end and having zero agression. Zion has been amazing whenever he has been able to be on the court.

there will always be room for guys that are good at Defense ,rebounding ,and finishing at the rim. It blows my mind how much the NBA cares about three-pointers in my opinion I feel like every team should at least have one good rim running big think like Derek lively , Daniel Gafford,Zubac guys that can get you super easy buckets inside and create second chance points, and are solid on the defense. None of these players are expected to shoot and they’re still on teams with good spacing unless you’re the Celtics I don’t really think having five players out on three point line is the way to win because if their shots are nit hitting, they’re definitely losing that series. That’s why they always struggle with Miami a team that is meant to stop three-pointers, especially against their Bigs because they can actually guard out the three-point line, and since Miami already struggle with rebounding and defending the paint, they’re pretty much taking out their biggest .

NGL, that's my biggest issues with the the Goga-wagon that's formed. He'a great in a niche role, but other Magic fans think he's beyond reproach to the negatives that come with game. Mose specifically had him guarding OG to avoid having to work against Brunson+KAT and more teams are going to do the same.
