I am South African and my house was broken into 6 times, not in an affluent area, my dog was poisoned and at another house I lived in, also in average neighborhood, I was hijacked at gunpoint by 4 men who laughed while assaulting me. Fortunately they could not get my car into reverse gear and someone from across thr street yelled at them. They did succeed in the end to get away with my car. I was a single mom and it was very long before I could afford another car, whichwas subsequently stolen from my friend's home while I was visiting.. A court case followed and the teenager stood there calmly chewing his gum and got off scot free. Our government is a joke, except it's not funny. We are a failed state. Maybe next time you can cover the farm murders?

Another interesting thing to note on crime stats in SA (and I would assume this is most countries). The stats only apply to reported cases. The vast majority of crime goes unreported. Of the reported cases, only a small % are actually investigated. Of the investigated cases, something like 4-8% actually get convicted and closed. A lot of those criminals detained, arrested or imprisoned, go free. It's a scary thing.

Not only South Africa, they are doing it in every country they go to. There's a problem with them in Australia, England is having similar issues with them , America has always had this problem . The biggest problem is that everyone thinks criminals deserve the same rights as none criminals

When I worked for a South African company their execs would come to Australia and laugh at how easily ev erything would be ripped off if we had shops, vehicles and offices, homes, hospitals like we do back there.
