I truly wish someone could've seen the pain & depression behind the laughter & had been able to help this man. Mental illness is so complex & not taken nearly seriously enough. We all had a brief moment of a true comedic miracle in our life, at one point. I had the good fortune to attend a filming rehearsal for the second season "Mork & Mindy" episode "Clerical Error" in which Mork tries to become a priest. At one point during rehearsal Robin Williams went off script with hillarious results and to this day I still treasure the memory of his riff on circumcising elephants. Absolutely priceless.

Aaawww Robin ❤❤❤❤❤OH A personal story! A friend from France was visiting me in San Francisco in the early 1980s. I took her down to Clement Street to the Last Day Saloon. My friends were playing there. During a set break we went nextdoor to the Holy City Zoo. Anyway, we went in and sat down, and Robin Williams took the stage. We were right in front. He starts greeting the audience, hears she is French, and for the next 10 r so minutes he did his act with and to her in fluent French. 😮
