I always assumed it was a means for them to “keep their purity intact” as well as learn how to interact with boys and men and what to expect of them as well as how to treat them in society. Having them interact regularly with the opposite gender around the time of puberty could be inherently dangerous to them as well as to Gerardo culture.

If you want to “real world equate”, I would have classified her as an “incel” who was like that because every man she tried to court was put off by her weird and sleazy behavior. No amount of fathers in her life would have fixed her because that sort of thing comes from being socially awkward and being unwilling to accept that you are the problem. This is why I do not ascribe “the real world” morals and standards to fictional worlds. That sort of thing only ends with people calling gamers racist because somehow orcs are “black coded”. Which is something only spoiled upper class children (or adults who never grew up mentally and emotionally) with no real problems care about or even talk about.

Every time you see Gerudo hoping to find a man in BOTW or TOTK they're acting excited and nervous. On another note the "no men allowed" rule in Gerudo town isn't just for Hylians, as you can only see female Rito as well. You never see Zoras in their city because y'know, desert, and apparently Gorons are allowed in because they sell gems for cheap and there is no such thing as a female Goron. What I'm trying to get at is I want to see the Gerudo who hooked up with a Rito dude, you know some adventurous lady gave that bird D a try! In the game the Rito city is actually closer to Gerudo town than any Hylian settlements so a Gerudo looking for love would likely encounter a bird man first.

Most fictional worlds I'd want to live in aren't books(Unless comics count), there are a lot of questions about the "Make your 'waifu' love you" so I wouldn't risk it unless they are answered, reviving fictional characters has similar questions, and I don't really have time to even reread my favorites, let alone the non-existent release I'm anticipating. Plus, if I have free books for life, even if it's JUST fiction, then I don't have to wait for a series to update, I can just start a different series while waiting for the next release. And if it goes beyond fiction books, then the world is my oyster.
