The History Guy: History Deserves to Be Remembered

4 жыл бұрын

The September 2, 31 BC, Battle of Actium was a turning point in the history of Western Civilization. But the battle also represented a lesser know conflict on the Roman frontier, and the Roman struggle with pirates. It is history that deserves to be remembered.
This is original content based on research by The History Guy. Images in the Public Domain are carefully selected and provide illustration. As images of actual events are sometimes not available, images of similar objects and events are used for illustration.

All events are portrayed in historical context and for educational purposes. No images or content are primarily intended to shock and disgust. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Non censuram.

I remember that scene from the movie Ben-Hur, when the Counsel was tasked by Caesar to seek out destroy a Macedonian fleet that had been raiding Roman Ports, commerce and then a battle ensued between the the two fleets. I'm not sure if that was relevant to the battle of Actium ?

Thank you, sir. Great job, as always!. You covered this topic brilliantly. My name is James, and I love history also. I have been following your channel for about a year, and I have a couple questions. Do you do your video editing yourself? Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed with historically based content on KZbin? I know you did a video which covered part of these questions. But I would like to put up quality content as good as you. I would appreciate any advice you might have to offer. Thanks again for your great subject matter and inspiration.

I use Power Director and do the editing myself. I think we could get better quality for much higher cost, but YT is always walking the line between cost and return. As for history on KZbin, as with all content, produce good quality and people will watch it. Our cardinal rule is to make videos that we would want to watch. There are some unique challenges with monetization for a history channel- send me an email to thehistoryguyYT@gmail.com and I am happy to give more advice.

I was terrifying. I love their tactics. Cuz when they were on the offensive people had never seen anything like that. And they were hired out by kingdoms. And they weren't afraid of nothing. So please do one on the Berserkers. Sincerely Silas because it's history. Deserves to be remembered Thank you, sir. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.🤺🦅👍
