If you recommend taking your mcat in June, when and how long would you recommend to study?

I would say at least get 2 months full time! So you'll for sure want to start studying during the semester a little at least practicing CARS, but once school gets out you need to be studying everyday for at least 8-10 hours a day treat it like a job then on the weekends maybe do 5 hours on Sunday, but take a practice exam on Saturday and review it Sunday spending a lot of time understanding why you got a question wrong.

So should I wait until my 3rd year of college to take it

Typically yes, unless you feel prepared or can get prepared earlier.

Is taking my first MCAT exam on the 27th of June too late for the application cycle?
@StudentPhysicianNetwork4 жыл бұрын
I actually took mine on the 27th. Just know that they may not offer you an interview until they get your scores Juky 27 or so. I'd say you should be fine.

Please help!! I'm currently a sophomore in undergrad and am trying to figure out when to take the MCAT so that I don't need to take a gap year. Also, I haven't taken any organic chemistry or biochem yet. So, do I take organic chem over the summer and take biochem the fall of my junior year (2020) to take the MCAT the summer BEFORE my senior year? Or is there enough time to take the MCAT my senior year and be accepted and everything without a gap year?

I would say take organic as soon as you can and biochem in the fall of your junior year. Then take the MCAT sometime b/w the spring of your junior year and june your junior year. Med school applications are usually due by the fall of your senior year. If you take the MCAT any later than that you'll risk having to take a gap year. Med school applications open the summer b/w your junior and senior year and close in the fall of your senior year.
