Ive got about 380 hrs and i agree with everything u guys and odough say. I only play on lvl 10. Lots of these issues arent noticeable below dif 7. It's sad to see what's happened to this game

Except they definitely are, I am not the best and so I have never been able to go above six or seven but every single update since launch has pushed me further away, it sucks... Try an eradicate mission solo on even level six and you'll see, I used to be able to do them not easily but consistently with any random loadout. it feels like the only way to win now is to run away from the enemies and It just isn't fun to get stomped over and over trying to play the horde shooter like a horde shooter.. :(

Similar, I have the skills to handle old lv 9, but usually stick to 5 or 6 because I want to have fun or relax. And the difficulty jump between lvs above 4 is massive. So if the devs are only playing level 4 or 5, that would be the issue. Add to this every update I keep getting pushed further down the levels inorder to have fun. I might just stick to lv 8 simply because there are fewer bad players it seems but that high of difficulty, I actually have to take the game serioisly.

At face value, making any horde shooter have "realistic" mechanics is going to be unfair as the constraints of realism are going to be felt, inherently, by the player. Having sci-fi bugs and robots that have massive hordes, infinite rockets, unlimited poison/invisibility, etc, is unrealistic. So they're subjecting the players to realism, which would be challenging against realistic horde foes, but it's dramatically worse given that we are facing unrealistic horde foes.

The AH team’s biggest failure is not improving their development and testing pipeline for 6 months. This outdated game engine appears to be held together by pure spaghetti and ABC gum. So when these guys push a patch without testing it, they are firing blind, and just tossing their code straight into a live service production environment. And when things break, they have no clue if their fixes even work. They were thrown off balance after release, because prior to release, the entire game was a closed testing environment. To not fix THIS problem after 6 months is the most glaring issue with this studio. The longer they go without a testing environment, the more quickly this game is going to fall apart. At a typical US software development studio, this NEVER would have been accepted.

Just so you know, world war Z also used the stingray engine. It may be outdated, but AH could easily crank up the horde amounts if they didn’t bother too much with niche details like magazines and individual shell casing remaining on the ground and absolutely clogging up space for no reason.

I 100% agree. The thing that has been frustrating me the most with this game are the bugs. Constant crashes, lack of attention to detail and lack of testing. It seems like every time they do something they mess something else up and don't even notice that they did it. They then go and focus their efforts on "balancing" when it's not a PVP game. Not trying to be entirely negative. Arrowhead are artists. They made a pretty cool looking thing. They aren't much on the developer side though because they have no processes or checks and balances or ability to fix the workings of things it seemed like. They do make it look cool and they have neat ideas.

So much for the 60 day plan. I don't know what they're waiting for, but another week passes by with absolutely nothing happening in the game. All l know is if the next patch nerfs anything, I think l'm done.

You already know there gonna nerf something😂😢 not to be negative but for them to nerf fire before a full month twice is very telling & this way after they said they were done needing I’ve done lost my hope & don’t even bother getting used to the guns or even bother switching up to learn the weapons bc it’ll just all be changed drastically within 2 wks to a month, ain’t gonna keep up with a game like homework, I prey they can fix this tho

At best it’ll be either be a buff only update or a mix of buffs and nerfs. But I guarantee it’ll be a repeat of previous updates where they take a step forward with some buffs to lull in the community then in the next update take 5 steps backwards with more nerfs.

I dont think you have a grip of reality. Do you know how long it takes to program and test things? Especially when every little change you do is scrutinized? We will probably get a note when something is changed and they are satisfied with it. BUT dont expect a salvation in 60 days. More a solution to the bugs.

The point of "realism" is so logic that works in real life, should work in game. When you can problem solve using your real life experience, that is rewarding. That doesn't mean that you have to be truly realistic, just that some key concepts carry over.

More realism (fixing durable stats on enemies) would fix the balance, ironically. The "durable" stat is meant to represent the fact that some armor has nothing important behind it, sometimes you're just destroying a structural part, or sometimes just penetrating the armor alone guarantees severe damage to something vital behind it. The autocannon vs the railgun: the autocannon has less penetration but full durable damage. Anything it penetrates, it can explode apart, even if there's nothing important inside that piece, it can destroy it. The railgun penetrates very well but doesn't have much destructive force, it really only hurts something if there's something important behind the armor (example, a bug brain, or the engine keeping a gunship flying) The problem is that, if the durable stat represents how much of an enemy part has nothing of value inside, then the bugs must be hiding their brains somewhere else? And gunship thrusters are just 85% empty space? The railgun SHOULD be very good against all weak spots, even well armored ones. Brains and thrusters getting holes in them should be pretty severe. The game already has a mechanic for this, but whoever set the stats on these enemies clearly wasn't made aware of this. This is the balance issue. It isn't the weapons damage, it's the enemies magically having no organs under their armor.

If Piles wants to be truly realistic, he needs to import this game into a real game engine. That would instantly fix most of the physics bugs in the game because the newer engines can handle it. They’re trying to patch a hole in a ship that isn’t meant to be on high waters.

They are using the term realistic incorrectly. They mean that they want plausibility, which is much different. They have that in droves already. And buffing the weapons or changing hp and armor values on the mobs would fit right in.

And about the complaining. Weve been through this before. We thought arrowhead got it. We applauded one patch. They went back to same nonsense. So now we are driving it in , because we dont think they get it. We want them to get it. We dont trust them saying they get it , i repeat weve been here before. I dont think you guys have been toxic. Ive been complaining as much as anyone , yet still playing the game.

Dawg this is it right here, love the game so god damn much, brings me back to the halo/odst days on top of being starship troopers with a lil T2 dream come true but having to keep up with each patch like hw or them nerfing fire right before the war bond like come on game is so good but all the nerfs are nonsenseical there gonna nerf a shotty bc it has a 30% use rate on the whole player base mf that is 1/4 of all divers in a mission on average like holy fuck, what we gonna nerf nades bc 2-3/4 are using the same one, or nerf armor stats bc everyone’s using the same armor like wtf kinda logic is that, there nerfing is just so backwards

And they said they need to nerf the commando and laser rover too. Thx, Arrowhead. Holy shit they’ve wrecked this game. The bugs are insane I can’t play anymore without some bs glitch. Today it was spontaneously not being able to change out of first person and my hands were in gun holding pose but no gun. I couldn’t change anything. Until I got stampeded by a charger. Fun times.

Do you REALLY believe the commando is suppose to one shoot botfabricators through the side of the wall? It is a glitch that has been abused and when they solve it it is a nerf? The Railgun wont be "Nerfed" as it is working as intended. The laser rover was NOT intended to have infinite ammo. So same here. It is not nerfed. It was working on a glitch and the glitch is fixed. Nerfing is when you lower the impact. Not when you remove glitches and bugs that can be abused.

I know what is going to happen with the bullet velocity and vehicle problem. They are going to bandaid the problem by capping the max velocity of the bullets coming out of the vehicle. Because realism for players not for npcs. And there will be a bug that kneecaps the vehicle launch where the vehicle shoots itself because it it traveling faster than the bullets it's shooting.

At some point I'd rather they don't update it anymore. Feels like it runs a little worse each time I couln't care less for the "endless content" brainrot the zoomers are used to. I just want the game I bought to be FUNCTIONAL

The problem is if there is NO new content the game dies in a few months. BUT we dont need anything new every other month. 3 or 4 updates per year should be enough

As a developer, i feel a lot os the problems are related to legacy technology they used to develop the game. I've seen some people saying that the engine is not the problem at all, etc, however that's objectively wrong, legacy technology will slow your development down, create scenarios where you dont what why something that was ok yesterday, it not ok today, it brings a lot of minor problems that creates a bad development environment

unintended or not the flamethrower nerf still happened, at this point it doesnt mean anything whether its intended or not, fact is, if during their 60 days plan every change adds in an additional "unintended" change that nerfs something people will still be furious, of course those things get through because AH doesnt test anything, going "oh its a bug it was uninteded so it doesnt count" is ridiculous, doesnt matter if it was intended or not, it still happened, after multiple months of us telling the devs to test things before they release them they still release crap without testing it once they might release the mythical big buff patch but what happens if 1/3 of the changes work, 1/3 of the buffs dont work, and the last 1/3 somehow breaks and actually nerfs? this is the problem with AH, they dont test anything so bugs pile up, every patch adds in new bugs, some bug fixes do nothing because they were not tested, some bug fixes somehow introduce ever more severe bugs, until they start properly testing there is not much point in being hopeful about a buff patch because for all we know the buffs they might introduce might be bugged or might be their favourite buff of "here you go, you get more ammo"

I saw some comments about AH balancing weapons around use rates. That's not necessarily a problem, though. The problem is that the balance team does not seem to understand economics or consumer psychology. In this type of game, the usage rates they are using to nerf are roughly what would be expected when a bunch of people have to choose between a bunch of things. You don't get everything being picked at equal rates. Even if every single weapon was a good pick, there would be one or two weapons that would be picked at higher rates than the others. It might be due to how it feels to use, it might be that it is just very, very slightly better in one common scenario, etc... Point being, if they chase equal usage rates, they will simply run the game into the ground. They need to go study human systems and the Pareto distribution. Edit: Actually, the usage rates that I have seen suggest that AH had done a pretty good job before they started nerfing everything. If they keep going (and the game doesn't die), they will end up with everyone having the same loadout because one set of weapons sucks just a little less than everything else. Having the most popular weapon chosen (on one side of the map) roughly 33% of the time is a low usage rate compared to what would happen in a natural system.

I mean longsword is the most picked weapon in monster hunter games. And devs KNOW it! And they don't want to do anything about it (maybe only add features to other weapons). And it's FINE. Because longsword looks cool and taps deep into "anime stick make whoosh slick moves" fantasy. Why would you take it from people, right? But Arrowhead would've definetly nerfed it 10 times already. Just because it's popular and fun. "Make good weapons boring enough to not be too popular" is their core philosophy. And it's absolutely disgusting. One of the reasons I left the game mid-April

@@Jonke75 gunlance can potentially be the deadliest weapon via glitch. Literally seconds to kill monster. Switch axe has spammable powerful attack that can cheese monsters. Is it fixed? No, because clever devs ALLOW players some fun if they want to have it. You'd think then "everyone is using it then?". Nah. Rarely have seen it. Because players know it's not fun to kill main "enemy" and end quest early. In Helldivers 2 it will be used. Because players HATE spam of heavy armored enemies. They want to deal with them fast. Also it happens because armor in monster hunter matters. In helldivers 2 armor gives you 0 protection. Either you kill fast or you die.

@@LaserTractor So you are saying that the devs are letting the glitches stay in the game because a few players like feeling overpowered ruining the game for others. So intead of fixing the glitch they just hope players will choose to not use the glitch. And here in HD2 we have people defending the glitches so that they can feel empowered and wreck havoc in seconds ruining the difficulty and fun for other players in the squad. Flamers popping chargers faster then the guy bringing in the antitank for his team. Commandos taking out fabricators faster then incoming barrage. In HD2 you should have to use the right tool for the right monster. Not bring a swiss armyknife that kills everything in an instant and that what the heavy flamer was used for. Only drawback range! Armor in HD2 I can agree with you on in some cases. The armor matters and if you have not seen that then you probably have not tested things after the armor bug was solved. Now headshots are still bugged! But it is a huge difference between light and heavy armour. So far the anilities on the armor matters more.

Just to double comment for the algorithm. Do the Nerfs NEXT patch. Get that good publicity. This patch all buffs and fixes ALL buffs and fixes. Next patch, you do MOST buffs, and then you swap the spray and pray damage with the I.Breaker. do the reasonable changes next patch. Then, if you must nerf a weapon, you MUST reduce flamethrower damage because you somehow coded it so that every time some picks the flamethrower, the office gerbil explodes then you nerf it. Do not cite "realism" or "pick rate" or any of the other silly reasons given in the past. You say every time someone chooses the flamethrower, the office gerbil explodes. We like Mr. Snuggles so we are ensuring he no longer explodes.

If people thought breaker was OP back at 1.0 then I would LOVE to see their reaction to it in Helldivers 1. In HD1 it was my go to gun, when I unlocked it around launch I tried it, then instantly swapped back to the punisher due to how lackluster it felt by comparison. Now a days I have been using Sickle against bots and Liberator Carbine against bugs, but I play solo so I may have different needs than squad players.

58:25 They should give that to the engineer armor instead of its useless recoil perk. Its too situational, not unique and doesnt fit the armor and its outclassed by peak physique. Meanwhile putting extra mags on the extra grenades armor would make it the ultimate ammo economy set and would indirectly buff stuff like the HMG. But knowing arrowhead if they did that it would make the game crash when you pick up an EAT with it on

Ohdough was trying to highlight the enemy changes and I think they have hurt the game more than the weapons nerfs. Ie hunter head shots the bots aim botting.

they've actually stealth fixed some of that as well, but headshots are still in the game. hunters don't hit them nearly as often anymore, same with bots

I disagree that the breaker or slugger were shitty before nerfs, the problem was they were decent and the devs didn't want people to have decent primaries. Overpowered would be having the stalwart as a primary (i'm not fundamentally opposed to this but it would mean that it would have a 90%+ pick rate because it's so much better than other primary options)

Well the Incindiary breaker HAD over 90% pick rate against bugs. The damage WAS a bit to high wich led to spray and pray COMBINED with fire and forget. The only nerf they gave it was a slightly higher recoil wich was barely noticable. The nerf was a clip to prevent the extreme spray and pray and it worked. This buff was necessary and good. Many are not. The flamer was also necessary but not good in the right way. But necessary... If not it would be 100% flamers in every game against bugs.

@@0Synergy Interesting... The Devs probably look at all levels of play. I can only speak from what I see playing on Diff 8+. And if ANYONE ever brought anything other then the Incendiary breaker on those levels it was an eybrow raiser. There was a few odds and ends that brought the JAR-5 but it only got useful with the new commando armors. And you could see someone very rarely bring the Sickle or the Blitzer. But usually 4 out of 4 would bring the Incindiary and at least 2-3 would bring the heavy flamer. Not for chaff as it should be. No it was for the chargers. When the flamer out performed the antitank you knew something was very off and had to be redesigned. You cant cook a tank with a flamer. It should do absolutely nothing to the chargers armor. The tails is a different story. Before the incindiary was released you could see both Breakers, Sluggers or even Eruptors beeing used.

I honestly have harder games on lower difficulty. 10 and 9 feel easier most of the time. It might be the quality of players at that level.

How about a season restart type of thing, that comes with a U.i change, with a new progression system, which clearly lays out which weapons, gear, and Strategems are "higher tier" and let me re-unlock everything from weakest to strongest, so I have an enjoyable gameplay experience progressing through the games difficulties. As the new weapons and Strategems I unlock, go hand in hand with handling the next difficulty level.

Ohdogh is COMPLETELY wrong about the game being “cool or popular” to hate on. It’s not that it’s that now people have finally came around to his point of view and are seeing the flaws. He shouldn’t dismiss them as bandwagon haters, he should be happy that people are finally realizing what’s wrong with the game.

After Warhammer out I bet there will be no player on this garbage game . Hopefully Sony will shut down down arrowshit and find better game studio out there and maybe give all fund for helldiver to Concord because I see that game have better future than this shitty game

Too much triple A thinking. Difficulty is there for a reason. Everyone has this Destiny type of thinking where they think they can solo a mission by themselves or try to make it look easy for their “viewers” but when it comes to some difficulty, they straight up complain to devs, instead of blaming their own load out and themselves. We all came to this game as rookies and had fun when we kept dying and dying, but now since we have experience people have brought the triple A thinking into it along with the “competitive” edge, on a PVE game. Complaining, whining, as gamers you should be able to challenge yourself. What happened to real, true gaming?

Yeah, what happened to dogshit controls that limited skill expression and artificial difficulty with no save points to lengthen play experience? Wait, why are you here in the first place Mr. 1337. Go back to your older true gaming, clearly the game is too casual for you. Everyone else knows the game isn't hard, it's just fucking boring because ttk is so long. Playing the game on a stratagem cd instead of using your weapons is boring, but I guess you wouldn't realize that since you've never left difficulty 5 =)
