@davidwhitfield6025 Жыл бұрын
Well that could have gone better. The game told you to rest in the Inn. Listen to advice either from NPCs or your party when they say they need a rest. It's the Devs way of helping. However I'm interested to see how this turns out. However I will applaud your taking your lumps and not reloading. Its hard not to do but it does make the game more interesting and sets the stakes higher. You had to keep Marcus down. I used the Laughing spell and scrolls to keep him on the ground until I dealt with the flying undead around Isobel then laid into Marcus as he was prone (rinse and repeat the laughing spell to keep him down after a hit) then just laid into the bugger. Once he's gone the rest just go. Take Marcus out and you save Isobel (which I didn't realise at the time). My Wizard Magic Missile was the clincher I found. Always 100% and no saving throw. Think about including Gale. You need a dedicated magic user with t3 spells.
@adamb83174 ай бұрын
I find that it is much harder to run a balanced party with 4 instead of 6 in the old BG games unless you have dual classed party members. You are kinda limited to 1 damage dealer, 1 tank, 1 cleric, and 1 mage. Though they run a cleric and a Druid, the Druid doesn’t specialize that well until a high level.
@adamb83174 ай бұрын
In BG1 and 2 I like to run: Main character tank: Paladin or Ranger Damage: Barbarian and Fighter, or thief. Support: Cleric, Druid and Mage BG1 does well with a Ranger tank, using heavy armor, BG2 tends to work a little better with a Paladin.

48:22 at a spell save dc of 14 and with the target have a -1 modifier there is a 70% of them being turned. So either the spell just gives an completely incorrect score, or they accidentality switched succeed and fail scores when displaying. The 5% discrepancy then comes from the incorrect way it handles the boundary condition that is rolling a 14. Either way the actual rolls seem to do everything correctly, so it's merely rather inconvenient rather than broken.

Odd: "Ignore the woman they're kidnapping, we have to save the woman who's in no real danger, and is completely capable of taking care of herself!" I mean, it didn't really amount to anything, other than Asterion slipping on some ice and falling on his ass while running out the room, but honestly that's mostly because this fight is _rough_ if you're not prepped for it, and the cleric is kinda a dumbass and invites them to attack her.

It makes you feel the sting from both the story side and the mechanics side, which not many games achieve. But also, the fight to save Isobel is 75% rigged against the player. With a level 8 party on balanced difficulty, Isobel dropped to under 10 health twice in that fight, and needed the whole party focusing on protecting her. @LucklessLovelocks2 ай бұрын
Nope. I played a lawful good paladin for a while in a Pathfinder campaign. I played him very strict, law abiding and selfless. I come up with an idea for a character and stick to it. I wouldn't want to play with you as you don't seem to want the players to have the freedom to play the characters they want. A good DM understands that they're building a story together with the players and adapt their style to fit the group. I also came up with a character who was working with the big baddie of the campaign. Managed to hide that fact despite summoning a demon to attack the party and using the chaos to kill a NPC with important info for the party. You're probably just not used to playing with people that are as creative as me. Just boring stock players. Sounds like you'd run a pretty boring game for me. I think we're doing great. It's a blind playthrough and we're not save scumming/looking things up. Things won't be perfect and the game is designed around failure being an interesting path. We've had plenty of successes also. I don't think we have missed the Creche storyline either as we found the mountain path exit in here so I assume we can go back there.

To be fair, the game don't really tell you to do the Creche first. If anything it feels like it encourages you to take the Underdark path. But yes, anyone who has done it would agree that you should probably do it before progressing Act 2.

They didn’t miss the Crèche storyline. I did all of act 2 before doing the crèche. You get a warning before attempting the night song quest line to make sure everything’s cleared up. Also, if you actually play this game the way it’s Intended to play, your bound to make mistakes like this. Imagine playing through the game without the use of internet and being able to look things up or reloading saves. Things like this will happen, it’s just the name of the game. So yes, they are doing great. 😊👍🏻

Yeah if you haven't noticed you basically get unlimited long rests in this game due to all of the looting/scavenging you do. So being stingy about using spells and long resting is pointless

How useful might Halsain have been while they were at this Inn, but I don't know what I still expect anything from these two. I'm too far in to start over but this is ridiculously frustrating, so many missed opportunities because they are dumb or forgetful.

Once again an awful comment. I guess you like watching stupid people, being frustrated and angry. Who really is the dumb one here?

Please elaborate. I'd suggest if you're going to say something like this, which is frankly insulting, you should provide some constructive feedback with it.

Yeah I don't get it. There are definitely times where I'm suuuuuper tired during this but at least we're equally clueless at times and frankly we're doing awesome overall. I literally learn and adapt at the end of this with the Spirit Guardians spell. I don't know why I respond to these comments. I just hope it's a teachable moment. These types of comments aren't constructive and only serve to make the creators feel bad which is weird because if this person has watched 36 parts then why not be encouraging? Clearly they're entertained@@shitdemon487

That's what playing tactician is like, it's hard because they chose it to be hard.

Yeah, I'm giving up on this playthrough for now... I can't watch something where one of the people playing is sabotaging the playthrough and making us miss out on stuff because he thinks he's funny.

Your comments are childlike and abbrasive. Maybe you are a child. If you are you should learn some manners. Even for KZbin comments you're incredibly toxic. You should learn to read responses to comments and be more understanding. Use your brain more and stop being so negative. You'll be a happier person for it. Or don't. Up to you.
