The style of music you play can change. I used to have a Les Paul but then my taste changes and now I am a tele and strat guy.

time and change in music tastes. I used to like more 80s-90s stuff but now I like more 50s-70s music

It doesn’t cost a dime to KEEP a guitar. If an emergency comes up, then yes, sell what you have to. I would never sell a guitar just because I haven’t played it in a while. I’m sure we have all had guitars that sat for a while and then one day you pick it up and play the heck out of it for a few months again. I have never regretted holding onto a guitar. MANY TIMES I regretted selling one. Just my 2 cents

Takes awhile to sell a guitar once you put it out there on marketplace. You get mostly trade offers which sucks when you just want your money back on it. I just got a Schecter CR6 for $200 that retails for around $800. It plays amazing but I already have a bunch of great guitars. Might as well take the opportunity to make some money.

@@SilkandScroogethe problem is selling it. No one wants to spend what it’s worth. Lotta empty pockets right now

I have sold guitars I felt liberated afterwards, and I have sold guitars I regret to this day. It's mainly because of budget: I like high end guitars but that way I can't have 6 or more guitars, each with it's own use. I'd love to own 3 different acoustics, a nylon crossover, a baritone, tele, strat and LP for example but instead i went with 1 tele and 2 high end acoustics. I sold most of the guitars I used to have apart from my very early ones because of nostalgic reasons and the fact they just won't be worth selling. Some of them, I do miss. Alot of memories. In a way I like having only 3 guitars, but it's also nice having a big collection and seeing them when walking by everytime

If people like and play there guitars never sell them because you will regret some sales

I always struggle to sell a guitar mainly because I take a long time to buy so I am usually very sure it’s a long term guitar before buying but there have been instances where I sold a guitar and it felt extremely liberating.

I’m wondering if I should sell my Godin session so I can buy a danelectro, the thing is it’s the first guitar I have bought and it’s the only one I have. Any advice?
@Impenetrable_Walls_of_Heaven14 күн бұрын
Danelectro guitars are cool, but if you only have one guitar the dano might be a little limiting if its a single coil model. Super annoying to always have to tame the noise. Its good to have one guitar with a humbuckers imo

I sold a 1993 dean Cadillac tropical era and never found it again. Don't sell rare guitars guys, especially if you loved them

Here's a thought: If you're well enough off to be able to afford multiple guitars, then why sell them? Donate them to a local music school, or give them away to that kid down the street who really wants to learn but can't afford it? That way they'll get used for what they were made, rather than sitting in a case or as wall decoration.
