this is a bad comparison bcs they are different guitars, a les paul is inherently going to sound darker than a strat bcs of the body

Hey ! Nice video, Gibson Les Paul tribute gold top or Epiphone slash signature 2008 ? Wich one is better ?
@Coleo43223 күн бұрын
Bang for buck I would actually go with the Epiphone
@Dreyno23 күн бұрын
You need to float the bridge. They usually come decked and can only lower the pitch. You need to adjust it which will allow you to raise and lower the pitch.

Love ithis guitar. Wonder if I could get to help somewhere. I got a rhythm and a trouble switch problem. And it's roughly a 2008 Epiphone. Less Paul 100 made an Indonesia in the Rhythm and Treble switch has one ground plug. The new one has two not getting any power, so I'm wondering. Is those 2 groundwires which were originally grounded together. I sa Sautter I sauttered them. it at them apart and sauder them to the new switch which has double ground so do I need to switch it back and make it one and run it through the both grounds could really use some help.Thank you anyone appreciate it

I wish I could be more of a help, however, I do not know almost anything about electronics.

Both are great, but, if you have to choose just one, I'd say get the more rugged and reliable one: Strat.

I bought my first Gibson SG three months ago. I’ve always been a Les Paul guy but I got a wild hair up my ass one day and pulled the trigger on the SG. I already am ready to sell it. The neck dive is a deal breaker for me. I just simply cannot feel comfortable playing it standing up or sitting down. And that saddens me

That is totally understandable

I wanna buy the Pole and replace the pickups with the pickups from a squire Bullit Strat, I would prefer.

IMHO, Gibson and Epiphone always sound better for hard rock and metal.... Except for certain lead tones. I do own both Fender Strat, Gibson Les Paul.

A strat trem can go up when pull on the trem. The issue with yours is you have it decked sitting flush against the body. You can loosen up the springs in the back to make it float. It wont be as stable as a floyd rose but will be able to do most of the same things. Most people deck their trems to avoid accidentally pulling them sharp.
@bluwng2 ай бұрын
Neck dive isn’t a function of body vs neck weight it is more of a design and parts placement issue. The neck is not heavier than the body and all the electronics.

Had a SG for a while loved it but had to take it back cause I needed the money. Still wanna get another one, the playability was the best of any guitar I’ve played and sounded great and light as hell

Was thinking about putting a P90 in my les paul neck position to save money on getting a strat.. But you really can't beat the quack of a strat in the neck position.

Trying to decide between these exact guitars. Same colors and models. Starting to lean towards the SG since I have an American Telecaster already and I want the low end of the humbuckers. The Strat looks so good though. Thanks for the demo.

I have a 2007 Gibson SG special i was fortunate enough to find at a garage sale for very cheap. Its heavier than most SGs i encounter at guitar center, so its never had the neck dive issue. I upgraded the pickups and all electronics, and i love it. I feel very genre versatile while playing it. Jazz, rock, metal, funk, u name it It needed to be refretted. Ive sanded the neck so it doesnt get sticky. Newer gibsons have had quality control issues reportedly since the early 2000s. Ive played many an sg in a guitar store and have been thoroughly unimpressed, so i believe they can be hit or miss, but i believe mine is a eternal gem that couldn't be much more than i want out of a guitar. I love teles and hollowbodies too. Thank you for sharing your input!!

Using thinner strings helped with my vibrato a lot. Also trying to imitate certain players (George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc.) also helped a lot. Was probably the earliest thing I tried to learn because I found that a weak vibrato can kill an otherwise really good lick/riff/solo. But keep on chugging dude! Takes a lot of guts to admit your weaknesses and show them to people on the internet, especially other guitar players because just like assholes we all have opinions lol

Thanks so much! Those are some great ideas and I'll definitely give them a shot. Thanks again!
