Haha, a lot of the time you've learned the song before but you forget what key it's in and how to play it. I'm 35 and I haven't played Simple Man in probably 20 years. It would take me longer than that but I'd have it worked out in a couple minutes of just hitting notes and seeing what's what. Other than that it's just staying in key when you solo. Every time people get sick of true pop, ordinary people experiment in music, and we get rock (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Hendrix), jazz (too much to list), even dance, EDM, hip hop and rap, and much more. Most, including myself can't even get the original song straight without butchering it. Also, many times an artist will cover a song adding their own flare to it.
