There’s just something about this one that just hits the right spot for me. I like one of the live ones for the great a cappella finish by all three of them then there’s the annoying addition of the tv station putting up the lotto results halfway through (such an Australian thing to do 😂). This one is intimate, film noir-ish and I think it shows off John’s voice better than the live ones. However, it’s the only exception, otherwise the live shows are the ones to watch. The guitarist is Diesel, Jimmy’s brother-in-law. Their wives are sisters. John has the most amazing vocal range. He can sing anything & I have been a fan for 50 years. His concerts are jam-packed with middle aged fans who grew up with him, like me. There is a new documentary called John Farnham: Finding The Voice. You should watch it if you can. His late manager & best friend Glenn Wheatley helped revive his career (thank God!). His belief in John’s talent was amazing & prophetic.

I saw you had mentioned you've already seen a live version of this. The one performed on Australia's old variety show Hey Hey It's Saturday is the go-to imo as they finish the song as an acapella trio with Diesel joining them. It is brilliant.

Yes John is a chameleon! I feel like it might have been difficult for him to figure out an artistic direction at times because he can literally do anything. A recommendation for next is the remastered video of him singing Reminiscing when he was in Little River Band, different again from what you've seen so far.

Some of Farnsey's best work is in his duets. He is always authentic but also has such amazing chemistry with his singing partners. Check out his duet with Olivia Newton-John doing Please Don't Ask Me. Absolutely mesmerising ✌️

John could sing the phone book. Literally!!! He doesn’t copy songs he makes them his own. He can sing any genre, rock. Pop. Opera. Musical theatre (he played Jesus in the Lloyd - Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar). Ballads, he loves Stevie Wonder and often performs one of Stevie’s songs acapella with his entire band. He sings gospel and warms up his voice to Led Zeppelin’s Black dog and does it better than Robert Plant!! He sings country. He’s naturally brilliant and we love him♥️love from Oz🇦🇺.

If you find the "Hay Mate" benefit concert from 2019 with john, he was 70 years old, started his 5 song set with "We will Rock you" by queen, and finished with "A long way to the top" by AC/DC and still sounded absolutely amazing

Perhaps you are starting to comprehend what all Australia knows; Farnsey is a freak of nature, who worked very hard at his craft for decades. He can sing anything from love songs with Olivia Newton-John (The Main Event); semi-Opera with Australia's Phantom Of The Opera (Anthony Warlow, also at The Main Event); Black Dog; gospel (Amazing Grace with Venetta Fields and Lindsay Field) PLUS he's a genuinely nice guy.
