Of all things, Coquard was clean here. Never changed line. Bahaus didn’t open the box for Narvaes but he didn’t have to anyway. Clean overall.

What is Pithie doing? Fighting and wasting energy for second wheel with a km to go so he can finish 20th?

Maybe UAE can give him the Yates transformation, Adam was very inconsistent when he was with Ineos and didn’t had 3 week legs for GT’s with UAE he came in to the form of his life and make the podium in his 1st season with UAE on the TDF of all places and as a lieutenant for Pogi, so there is hope for narvaez

4:12 Coquard starts his sprint on the middle left part of the road. 4:16 4 seconds later he is next to barriers and leaves no space on his right. He had no idea if he would endanger other riders by this move because when you sprint you don't look back. If there were more fast riders on his right there could be a crash. In that case there would be relegation. UCI need to stop relegating for consequences and start applying rules equally in every situation to prevent crashes! Imo Coquard deserves at least yellow card. Pithie for you it is obvious relegation or even dsq.

The road is not straight. It turns to the right. Don't look only from the helicopter camera. Look at 2:44

Yes, the way rules are now you can always gamble and cross the full road because if you're lucky no one is there and you have a slight edge.

At this point of the leadout no train is coming from behind with more speed. He slingshot and went for the shortest route. Anyone with more kick would have passed inside already so it's a non-issue. You can tell if someone is around you when you sprint. He knew no one was next to him. If anyone closed anyone to the barriers it would be Bauhaus, he would probably have won if he had stopped closing when Coquard did but he wanted to box in Narvaez.

the riders are still behind coquard, so not tight, narvaez is blocked by Bauhaus on the other hand but for second place

@@mrtnt1996the rule is, that you can't deviate from your line once you start sprinting. I don't think this was the case here he just simply didn't choose the shortest line but one that drifted out to the barrier.
@punkandprovocation
@punkandprovocation Күн бұрын
@@ForeverDayGreen That's not the rule. You can't deviate AND in doing so endanger another rider. Deviating is fine if you're not putting someone else in danger as happened here. Narvaez is nowhere near the action.
