It's a display error when the number is greater than the maximum double precision float (I assume that's the situation because the ante 38 scores are just below that threshold) where it's trying to display NaN (not a number) in scientific notation so it displays naneinf, literally "NaN x 10^infinity" My guess is that the NaN is due to a bug in the scientific notation conversion bc any number larger than the max would be stored as "inf". And I would speculate more on this bug but the comment's already too long. Oh boy I am a stoned programmer in a youtube comments section and I wrote all this shit. Someone else on the internet has probably explained this better

I recently got a e103 score on a trib run, and it was literally perfect - brainstorm, blueprint, a few sock my buskins, a few idols, a trib. I used 2 ectos and had antimatter, my entire deck was red seal poly glass kings. The only way it could've been improved is if I had a massive negative hit or smth, and I'm not fishing for that. And since I have a completionist++, it'll probably be my last balatro run

Just had my best game of Balatro pivoting from a Clubs to a Baron deck after getting a random Baron from Judgement and then getting Mime in the shop, but the only thing that went wrong was I couldn't find a single red seal in any spectral or basic packs, plenty of Brainstorms though so I'm still very happy.

I started playing Balatro because of watching these videos and I don't know if it is because I have nothing unlocked yet or I'm just terrible at it but it is taking me forever to actually get anywhere. 90% of the time I lose well before ante 8, it seems like whatever jokers I pick I am almost guaranteed to draw anything but the cards I would need for them. I set it up for straights and I draw pairs, I set it up for pairs or full houses and I draw straights, I get a Hack and I draw face cards, I get Faceless and I draw anything but.... I got lucky once with a Four Fingers, Crazy Joker, and Shortcut, but otherwise it has been a struggle

After hearing the ribbing from chat the chatter at 1:06:09 recieved for suggesting you could beat the Ox by playing pair, I tried to calculate if he was right. I at least proved the idea wasn't "the worst advice ever" as one chatter put it. If you played pair instead of high card, the raw mult before splitting from the Plasma deck would be 1/50 of what it usually is. In addition to this, you wouldn't have been able to use your DNA to draw two more kings to your hand. These two kings each give times x1.5^9 resulting in an additional decrease in mult of 1/1478 without them. In addition to this, you would have had to play another king to make a two pair hand, resulting in an additional decrease of 1/38.44. After multiplying all of these factors together, The total mult would be 1/2840756 of what you got with high card. Since the plasma deck essentially halves then squares the mult to calculate the final score, doing this would make your final score 1/2840756^2 or 1/8.0699e12 of what it usually is. After rerolling the boss and playing high card, you did 8.660e37 and needed 1.680e26. If you had used two pair you would have scored 1.0731e25 and died tragically, according to my calculations. Now this doesn't account for Roffle playing like his life depends on it. In that case, he wouldn't have put a copying joker on the DNA and instead on a scoring joker, almost certainly guaranteeing he kills the blind. Obviously, I did not expect you to do all of this on the fly, and your intuition was better than mine as I thought the change would be very insignificant. I think you would have easily gotten past the Ox using this chatter's strategy but I do not blame you for not attempting it.

I'm assuming you're talking about the point in the video with a blueprint, a brainstorm, two barons, and a mime. When calculating score for each king in hand, you get x1.5 from steel and x1.5 from each baron, and these effects are retriggered once by the red seal and once for each mime. A formula to calculate the factor from each is Score = (1.5x1.5^B)^(2+M) where B is the number of barons and M is the number of mimes. For three barons and two mimes, the factor is 656.84. For two barons and three mimes, the factor is 437.89. It is hard to intuit this kind of math so I hope this helps.

Nah, the extra baron is better here since it gets copied by the mimes. He made it so every red seal steel king gets triggered four times, and gives 1.5X four times per trigger, for a total of 16 1.5X effects. Compare that to 5 triggers with 3 1.5X per trigger if he double copies the mime.
