That's the beauty of writing a fictional genre is you can play around with the "rules" of certain things and switch things up. For tadaima, okaeri, it was a bit different since this is one of the most long running BL omegaverse since 2015 and the author adapted a different type of the omegaverse system than what we really know from today's manga/manhwa adaptations. Even so, each author has a different take from how they want the omegaverse world to be like, sometimes in their works, their world is acceptable with AxO and being a fated mate, and in their other works, perhaps not where it's the opposite and it's not encouraged in their world to have AxO together which is what Tadaima, okaeri omegaverse world is all about. It's more of a status and social class problem rather for the second genders, so for their world, I'm assuming it's kinda hard to find an omega who is so successful in their lives, in terms of career where they're not the househusband but the breadwinner or even being an equal level of successful as their choice of partners, be it an alpha, omega, beta. It is an interesting world in Tadaima, okaeri because it's definitely different and a bit unique in it's own way with how their omegaverse world is really different from the others like it seems like Hiro and Masaki don't even spend time together during each other's heats or ruts because of how their world is built where it shows that their environment is not cut out for AxO couples but of course, it works fine for them and they are doing amazing as a couple and a family. Or perhaps they used to spend together with each other's heats before Hikari was born but now they can't because they have a child with them so the other parent has to take care of him, while the one in the heat has to take care of himself, but I'm not sure because like I said, their world is definitely different in a good way honestly because it just shows how certain authors take a certain fictional world and changed it differently from what we all know and familiar with. There wil be few things that will happen in the upcoming episodes that will showcase to you just how different this world is compared to the other omegaverses that you've read before or from nowadays.

You are correct "Papa" aka Fujiyoshi Hiromu is voiced by Morikawa Toshiyuki, who has also voiced Ubuyashiki Kagaya from Demon Salyer. He a LONG list of characters he has vocied including: Souma Kaouza from Fruits Basket, Blanca from Banana Fish, Kugi Kyuutarou from Buddy Daddies, Ruthven from Vanitas no Karte, characters in Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Black Clover, One Punch, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and Junjou Romantica, just to name a few.

In the world of Tadaima Okaeri, all genders can get pregnant from one another. Like alpha male x alpha male or omega female x omega female can have kids with each other. Or even something like alpha female x beta male would do. Everyone can do it. So discrimination is against the relationship between two different types because omegas are seen as less valued than the rest. That also happens because in this world in particular, omegas keep releasing pheromones even after being mated and suppressants and pills don’t really work like in other omegaverse. They are more like allergy medicine and epinephrine.

it really seems this anime is taking a different direction with the omegaverse, where alphas and omega dont really mate one another, omegas go with omegas, and alphas go with alphas. the omega heat also seems different since it seems the omega goes through it alone, with the way masaki and hiro dont spend it together. i wonder if theres a reason for that.

It's because Tadaima, Okaeri was first published around 2015, which is quite older compared to popular omegaverse today that uses the AxO dynamics as the norm. Omegaverse and its interpretation, especially in Japanese comics, had changed a lot over the years. Here in Tadaima, Okaeri, secondary genders are more heavily tied to the status quo, wherein Alphas are deemed superior. So, to keep the status quo as it is and also keep that status symbol, if you're an influential Alpha from an influential family, expectations are that you also marry the same "kind".

You're not wrong. Omegaverse rules vary from story to story. There are some where when people are mated they can control their heat cycles or their pheromones don't affect anyone besides their partner or they get sick if they are away from each other for long periods of time. There are also stories were alphas and omegas are subdivided into recessive and dominant and there are others where the bottom tier are actually betas. I only started reading this stuff less than a year ago so I still find all these differences very confusing. As for your final thoughts towards stay-at-home parents, I agree with you 100% on everything: in theory is very beautiful. But life is expensive so most people need two incomes. Also, the stay-at-home person can focus too much on the kids and the other person can feel neglected or like an ATM and, on the flip side, the stay-at-home can feel like a nanny or a maid. And if the relationship falls apart, the person with no income can be left totally unprotected and scared as they see how their whole lives fall apart and find themselves with nowhere to go and no way to provide for their children (which is why stay-at-home moms are the most aggressive ones during a divorce).

There's some that take the omegaverse and change some of the concepts. I've read some, where the omegas are the more dominant one and alphas are only seen as the one that can get them pregnant. It all depends on the writer.

I know I often make requests for animes for you to react but I feel like there's one anime that I think you shouldn't miss out since I think it's perfectly up your alley which is Oblivion Battery. It's a Sports Anime specifically Baseball Anime so it probably sounds something you won't get into but knowing you like Haikyuu I think you'll like this anime not for the sports but mainly because of the characters. Or you can just read any omegaverse manga or story. You searching up omegaverse on google ain’t gonna help you bc each author has their own set of rules when it comes to omegaverse in their story. Not all omegaverse universe are the same.
