Those two had me. I kept looking closely for even the slightest twitch of a muscle that they were joking. Bewildered how they could sit in your home, after days of good hospitality, and betray you and Danielle in such a way. Yet, I thought things must be so bad that they felt COMPELLED to say something. Underneath all this though, my brain was refusing to believe that level of abuse could possibly be happening. No way is dad cleaning crumbs using one finger. No way Mr. too-late-to-vacuum could be out weeding. Let alone from morning to dusk. "Homey don't play that" (in Damon Wayans' voice in In Living Color) 😂

Watching a parent deteriorate is heart breaking but you have to find ways to remain upbeat or the burden can become unbearably heavy. I’ve been there. I love spoof videos!! Great job , ladies!! This family is so amazing. I lost both of my parents to this horrible disease. We were blessed to have been able to keep them out of a nursing home. The struggles Dan and his family face can be so emotionally draining but, at the end of the journey, it will be so comforting knowing that you gave him your unconditional love and kept his dignity to the very end. It’s a beautiful reward! God bless you all! ( sorry for the long ramble)

I SO WISH that I could recall a 60 Minute show where the female 'reporter' had an expert in dementia told her what to wear, etc., so she'd get a good idea what it feels like to have symptoms of dementia. Unreal. It was AFTER seeing that, I finally understood WHY grandpa cannot hear y'all 90% of the time. Apparently, they have a LOUD noise that never stops! In their ears. Yes. It's so crazy. My mum had parkinsons which led to parkinsons dementia. It really is am all day thing. So grateful I had that time with her though and the days when the sun-downing wasn't too bad were great.
