Well dang...think the word about Juanelo finding the good fishing holes in Lake Katchabigwon has circled around and they all hid on the other side. None the less your faux rice was beautiful! and spicy..why yes please!! That was one beautiful gravy for that beautiful chicken. Miss Lulu Cheeks sure gave it rave reviews eh! Abe thought he was god lol ..funneh

Hi Booger! Where were the big bass? Maybe I need to be more sneaky. They know my fishing day is every Friday. I ought to fish on Thursday and cross them up, huh? Oh, I can't say enough about this bogus "rice." It had some sweet heat that you would've loved! We loved this chicken recipe for two reasons. It was exploding with great flavor, AND it was as easy as cooking in an air fryer! Just throw everything into a pot and cook it! I should never have brought up Abe and Zelda. They're both old grouches! LOL! Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my dear friend! All the best to you and Tom!

Love that you are making a dish that departs from lake fishes! :) Bay leaves are like laundry lint.....can't get away from but gotta have it. I don't know. I just toss them in 'cause the recipe says so. I almost choked to death on one once when I was a kid, so make sure to take them out before serving! Fresh ginger? Oh yes please! Srirracha? Oh even better! Cilantro? I am swooning! What a beautiful bowlful of goodness. Guar gum.... a chef's secret! Helps the seasonings stick to meat when making beef jerky too. Miss Lulu is very cool supporting us veterans with that cammo tee-shirt! Nice! Excellent meal, Juanelo!

Hi John! I had to depart from fish this episode because I caught so few, and they were so tiny, that it was embarrassing! Ms. Lulu was very happy for the change of pace. Yeah, I've never noticed any flavor in bay leaves, but like you, I just follow the recipe. 😊 I'll be careful to remove them all. Your choking experience must have been beyond awful! I crave those ingredients you mentioned, fresh ginger, Sriracha, cilantro, mmm! I never knew that chef's secret of using guar gum! Thanks for sharing that! I may try using it that way. Miss Lulu was thinking of you when she wore that camo shirt! Thanks for your service, tocayo!! Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my amigo!

Happy Labor day!! I didn't labor much but you look like you did! The dogs and I headed to Oregon beach this weekend, which coincidentally is the state that started labor day!! BTW you can't overcook chicken, my lovely, luscious, lady love cooks her chicken all day in the crock pot and all it does is make it fall off the bone, mouth wateringly tender!! That chicken is kickin alright! I'll kick it off right into my mouth!! Sesame oil is really really good I agree!! And ginger is such an underrated spice! It makes everything very tasty!! Sweet and spicy is really great together!!! Very great kickin dinner! Have a great week Pops!!! :)

Hi Tyler! I labored at catching fish for dinner, but didn't get them! LOL! Oh wow, nice!! Yeah take off to beautiful Oregon! I had no idea that it started Labor Day. Fascinating! You're right, some commenter laughed at me because I let the thighs reach 190°, but they were absolutely delicious! Yes, they're good in her crockpot all day, and they just get better! The flavors of this chicken were off the Flavor Chart and right through the roof! Best of all, it's made in only one pot, so it's "quick and easy!" 😜 I know, sesame oil is wonderful stuff! All the spices worked in this meal. Try it if you ever get a chance. I think you'll be very glad! Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my good son! Hi afdb! Oh man, thanks so much for your encouragement and support. You know better than most others how fickle fishing can be. One day only big ones, the next day no fish, the next day only small ones, etc! Please try this recipe if you get a chance! I followed the recipe as best as I could. It turned out amazingly flavorful and delicious. The best thing about it is that it is easy because everything is thrown into one pot and cooked! I wish you lots of luck on your fishing vacation! John, great show! It was perplexing (and rare) to see Lake K being so stubborn! Thankfully those lockjaw days dont last forever and the open air fish market will be back in business before you know it. Wow your chicken adobo and hot rice looked scrumptious! Miss Lulu's critical review of your recipe was one of the most detailed and she was obviously very impressed with the chicken as well as the sauce and the just right spiced fake rice. Alas, your portend of quelled glee came true once again! Darn neighbors, this time with a God complex, are always messing up your well prepared love snares. Maybe next time hahaha! All the best from your friends in Jefferson City, Don, Brenda and Lorraine
@Juanelo19465 жыл бұрын
Hi Don! I wish I had an explanation for where the bigger bass were. I know they're in the lake, I've caught and released a good number of them this year. The lack of success on the water was somewhat alleviated by the good fortune with the recipes. The adobo chicken and phony rice was a delicious and welcome change of pace. Miss Lulu liked it so much that she promises to make it for us the next time. She was impressed that it was so easy. I just threw all the ingredients into one pot and cooked them! Oh, goodness, how I love your vocabulary and usage! Yes, my portend of quelled glee sadly came true again! She knocked down my generalization about old couples with a stinging example of marriage gone off the rails. There is always next time! Filipino Chicken Adobo is great ! You can actually mix the chicken with pork together in one dish and it makes it even better. Looks good as always my friend. I wondered ahead of time if Ms. Lulu would faint when you served something other than fish but apparently, you nailed it. And you did well with the "chicken in every pot." Apparently though, you're an overachiever with an eight-legged chicken! I do love those thighs especially, my favorite piece of the chicken. I think the main difference between skinless and skin-on is just that the skin retains a bit more fat, keeping the piece moist (and retaining more flavor, in my opinion), which was not a problem with your dish. Congratulations!
@Juanelo19465 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael! I did give Ms. Lulu a heads up that I wasn't serving fish, but she didn't believe me until she saw the chicken. The "chicken in every pot" didn't apply to me. Actually, I never thought of that! I had lots of thighs in that pot! We love thighs too. I've leaned that it's almost impossible to overcook them. Yes, I think you're right. The skin on thighs did seem to have a wonderful fattiness to them. I tried to follow the recipe religiously, and it worked. We loved this chicken adobo! Hi Stef! Sriracha is a weird word because it starts with "Sr..." Very few words start with those letters! 😊 The ginger-Sriracha with sweetener made this "rice" spicy-sweet. That combination made it not just tolerable, but oh-so tasty! As for the chicken adobo, Ms. Lulu was so impressed with the scrumptiousness and one-pot ease of preparation that she is determined to make it herself the next time. Everything goes into one pot! If only Ms. Lulu didn't hit me with the zingers every week, huh? Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my friend! Ms. Lulu and I wish all the best for you and yours!!

Hi John, sorry the fishing wasn't so good but your Adobe chicken looks saucy and delicious and the Asian cauliflower rice looks so spicy and delicious.

@Juanelo19465 жыл бұрын
Hi Will! You probably could! But I'm not sure. I'm not much of a cook, so I followed the recipe as closely as I could. It was delish this way! And it was easy because everything is simply put into one pot. Now Ms. Lulu says she's going to try making it for us. Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my friend! All the best to you and yours!

Hi AB! I bet we would have a blast fishing together! I wish I could fish with all my youtube friends who ask. The problem is that I get several requests each week. And if I say yes to you, I ought to say yes to all the others. Then my private lake is a public lake... I know you understand, and I appreciate that fact. Like Ms. Cheeks I love chicken! The "rice" looked really good as well! Today I tried making your cauliflower mashers and the texture was grainy. I even put it in the food processor. No luck. Any words of wisdom for your devoted follower?
@Juanelo19465 жыл бұрын
Hi Janine! Mmmm this adobo chicken and counterfeit rice were both awesome! You have to cook cauliflower florets a long time for mashers. I put mine in a microwave safe pot, cover it and cook it for at least 15 minutes. You should be able to pierce the florets with a fork, effortlessly. Once you get that down, they will be creamier than potatoes! Thanks so much for tuning in to my videos, and thank you for the kind words my friend! Good luck with the mashed cauly!
@gracielee45615 жыл бұрын
@@Juanelo1946 I think I started out wrong. I haven't been able to find any decent cauliflower in the stores here so I substituted the rice product. It probably would have been better if I had cooked it longer as well. Live and learn!
@Juanelo19465 жыл бұрын
I always start out with florets... I've used frozen florets, and they worked great too. I've been tempted to use the pre-riced cauliflower for mashers, but haven't tried it that way yet. Still, I think that cooking until the cauliflower is very soft is the key! Good luck my dear!! 💖

Don't let that discourage you Juanelo as you will win Lulu's heart one day :-) A "BIG" thumbs up :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
