Fruit, I had a friend with the exact same problem as you have right now. He did surgery (or jawbreaking as you call it) and after a recovery of about 3 months or so he was a-ok. If it makes you feel a bit better, just do it man! We'll have your back

I have TMJ, which isn’t what you have (I think), but it feels really nice to be able to relate to someone when it comes to jaw pain. It locks, aches, and sometimes I can’t open my mouth all the way because it hurts too badly to try. I personally use a mouth guard for sleeping at night because I grind my teeth, which makes my jaw worse. It looks a lot like the splint you use. Sorry for the long comment! I hope that you’re able to find some relief for your condition Fruit ☺️❤️ Jaw pain sucks!

I feel you for that splint. I was in a car accident and was hit with the airbag with alot of force it was enough that I almost broke my jaw. We didn't know this because I had chemical burns on my cheeks as well as fibers from the airbag. As the burns healed my jaw damage was healing. I had to wear a splint for 2 years then had to get my wisdom teeth removed then I wear braces for 3 years. Constantly I had people asking why you talking funny? So don't let people get you down! You talk just fine.

I had a palate expander to stretch my upper jaw a couple years ago!! It stretched across the roof of my mouth and came with a key, and every night I had to turn the key to expand the metal. I don't remember it hurting a lot but it was definitely weird af

Mr Fruit, dear, it will be ok! I suffer from the EXACT same thing. Its painful, its never ending, but the important thing is that you catch it early and have a good dentist. The worst part about having osteo is your tooth and sinus lining. Take..care..of..your..teeth! Gum grafts are no freaking joke. Watch your sinus lining. Its what will trigger pain which leads to endless root canals. Gahhh! Its ok though. Ive had this crap for 15 years

I had upper jaw surgery to expand it, as it was also too narrow. It’s really rough for the first two weeks; you have to be on a liquid diet. After the third week I was able to eat more solid foods. My smile looks 1000 times better. I had to use the expander for a month and a half to expand my jaw, I had a pinky-sized gap between my front teeth. But it’s closed now and my braces are off!

I had jaw surgery right after HS. They moved my top jaw forward 3 mm, widened it and moved my bottom jaw forward 14mm. Takes a while to recover but now I have no issues.
