I don't think people know how INCREDIBLY difficult it is to hit high notes on a trumpet. It's all breath control and 95% of people couldn't do that after 5 years of playing. I've not heard much of that range ever in fact. Amazing!

Back when we had Real Drum and bugle Corps, there were many solo soprano players that did exactly that, including Frank Dorothy, John Arie insano, Jimmy D'Amico, Don Angelica, almost every Real Drum and bugle Corps at top-notch, solo soprano players. Steve buglino, he was a member of the Floyd Bennett golden eagles, from Brooklyn New York in the early 60s has when I was a member. I was a snare drummer in Floyd Bennett in 1960 and 1961. Join the sun rises 1964 through 1968.

We had a shit music teacher one year and made us all do concert band and compitetions when we where Marching band. Main difference, marching is 90* louder than concert. We where so relieved that we where the first to play and the schools hadn't showed up yet. Got the worst score. But their main complaint was our lead trumpet Pipes was to load. He took her trumpet away and refused to let her play anything else that year. Ruined her senior your. Half the band dropped out and he was refused next year bc he didn't even have a teaching license. I have no clue how he was allowed to teach us everyday. But no one new if he was ganna be back so I dropped it for a computer class. I was a flute.
